"She saw him, didn't she?" Liv asks as we meet her at our car. I nod my head as I bury it in Jay's chest. After the little fiasco in the hallway, we skipped that hour.

Unfortunately, Jay wouldn't bring me home early. He said I have to fight through it. Matt is still going to this school after all and I'll practically see him every single day.

"How are you doing?" She asks me when I look up from Jay's chest. "I hate him," I mutter under my breath wrapping my arms around Jay's torso. I look up at him resting my chin against his chest. He looks down at me and gives me a reassuring smile.

"Olivia Grier, we have to talk," I demand her looking away from Jay. I unwrap my arms from his middle and cross my arms over my chest. I give a pointed look at my cousin.

"But I wanted to take you on a date," Jay whines. He turns me to face him holding my shoulders. "I have to talk to her Jay," I tell him. He looks at me with a confused face.

"Something is wrong and I want to help her," I explain whispering before I peck his lips. Jay seems like he's having an internal debate, but eventually, he nods anyway.

"But you owe me a date," he tells me. I nod at him excitedly before I peck his lips and wave him goodbye.

"Drive me home," I command Kevin as I jump into our car. Kevin rolls his eyes at me but drives home anyway.

At home, I grab Liv's hand after we get out of the car. I slur her to my room where I dump her on the bed. I stand in front of her with my arms crossed.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" I ask her with an angry tone in my voice. Liv squirms under my angry stare.

"There's nothing wrong with me," Liv mutters under her breath. "What's that?" I ask her raising my eyebrows. "There's nothing wrong with me," Liv tells me a little louder.

"Then why won't you talk to me? Why do you cut me off every single time I try to make a conversation?" I scream at her.

"I'm confused, Kailee!" Liv screams at me. "I'm scared!" She adds when I raise my eyebrows. "What are you scared about?" I ask her sitting down beside her.

"I can't," she mutters before she races out of my room. "Liv!" I scream running after her. When I reach the bridge she has already reached the front door and opened it.

"Leave me alone Kai. I need to sort this out," she tells me looking up at me. Her face is harsh and her voice sounds angry.

Just as Liv closes the door, dad comes walking on the bridge. I can only imagine that he came from Evan's room after he put him down for a nap.

"What's wrong?" He asks me concerned after he sees my face. "Liv won't talk to me," I mutter looking down at the ground with a sad face. Dad runs over to me and grabs me in a big bear hug.

Before I know it, I'm crying and dad is rocking me back on forth. "Something is up and she won't talk to me," I whisper in dad's chest. Dad gives me a gentle kiss on my forehead. It immediately reassures me that everything will be alright like dads are supposed to do.

"Just give her some time before you go talk to her," dad tells me. "Everything will be alright."

"Why did Liv run out of the house like a maniac?" Kevin asks as mom and he comes walking through the front door.

I remember mom came home from grocery shopping, not much after we came home from school. Kev probably got some bags for her.

Dad and I pull away from our hug and walk down the stairs. When mom sees my tear-stained face, she drops all the bags in her hands and takes me in a hug.
