"I think Jungkook hates me," you mumbled your concern to Hoseok as he brought you out for the first time in what felt like forever.
He was holding you on his back after being the one who had decided to take you out for your feeding, Jimin being busy from other tasks he had to do. It was a little disappointing but if you were going to live with those guys, you had to get to know them to feel more comfortable and Hoseok didn't seem so bad for a start after Jin.
"He doesn't hate you, pumpkin. He just..." he trailed off trying to find the right words.
"Doesn't like me?" You answered for him.
Hoseok shook his head. "No, not that either. That kid has a sad past, that's all."
"What does that have to do with hating me?" You grumbled. "He wouldn't even look at me. I mean I understand Yoongi, he doesn't like anyone but what's with Jungkook?"
"That's not my story to tell."
You sighed. "Why am I given the royal blood? Why me out of all those billions of people? Why is it a royal blood?"
"I don't know why you were chosen, pumpkin, but the royal blood was because Yuri was a royal herself," Hoseok answered.
You nodded. "Right, I remember Jin telling me that. He also said that she sacrificed herself and died under the sun. Why did she do that?"
Hoseok shrugged. "Not sure. But she did hated seeing others killing each other because of her. Maybe she did it so that the sufferings could settle down. Without the royal blood, there would be no use in fighting anymore."
"And then it was given to me. Why didn't it just die away with her? How did people even find out about the new royal blood?"
"There are powerful beings out there who can sense the blood, Yuri's great grandmother for example, and then words was spread."
You thought of Jimin again. "How did Jimin find me? He must've known in the first place right?"
Hoseok nodded. "Jimin's a little more powerful than normal vampires, Jungkook too. They can both sense the royal blood."
"Like Yuri's great grandmother."
"That's right," he nodded again. "The most powerful vampire is you," he told you.
"I don't feel powerful at all," you doubted. "I couldn't even get away from Jin when he held me back from running off to Hani and my parents. He even clawed me and blood came out."
Hoseok tensed under you. "Hyung did what? Are you okay?"
At least someone cares other than Jimin.
"I'm perfect," you replied.
He chuckled. "Nearly. We just need to give you some blood and you'll be better than perfect."
After saying that, Hoseok stopped walking to look around. "Do you hear that?"
You heard it; a human's heartbeat. It was close by, you could tell. You nodded at Hoseok's question. He then placed you down on the ground. You couldn't stand up on your own due to your weakness and lack of blood so you fell on your knees with Hoseok's help in settling you down safely.
"I'd teach you if you were stronger but it looks like I'll have to do the job for you. Wait here, I'll be right back," he promised before quickly speeding away, off to where that human was.
Only a few minutes later did Hoseok come back with the human body. You stared at the old man as Hoseok settles him down in front of you, ordering you to drink him from the neck. The man was still alive, you could tell from his heartbeat.
A part of you felt guilty for having to suck his blood out but you knew you had to survive. Jimin had protected you from the second he laid eyes on you and you didn't even know. Even Yoongi was there to keep you safe, watching and observing you from the distance. If you didn't drink, all their efforts would be put to uselessness. You had to survive even though a part of you just wanted to die.
You slowly approached the old man in front of you. His eyes were looking right back at yours with a terrified look, knowing exactly of his fate. You felt bad, you didn't wanted to do it but his blood smelled so good. You needed it.
"I'm sorry," you whispered before brushing your lips against his neck and bit down on it, sucking out his blood to drink.
He might've had a family to return to, sons, daughters and a wife waiting patiently for him to come back home only to be frightened later on when they find out he'll never return to them.
No matter what scenario came into mind, you didn't stopped drinking at Hoseok's commands, sucking his blood until the last of it was gone and his heartbeat stopped beating, leaving him to lie lifelessly on the ground right in front of you.
After realizing what you had just done, you gasped at the dead body. Your hands were covered in the human's blood but your body reacted by licking them away despite how terrified you were of yourself.
"Hoseok.." your voice cracked as you looked up at your fellow vampire friend. "I just killed a man." Your hands shook with fear and Hoseok had to drop down for you to lean against him.
"I know," he whispered. "You have to get used to this."
"But I don't want to. I don't want to kill innocent lives," you sniffed.
"I know," he repeated, palm rubbing your back up and down as you cried. "But you have to accept this life. We're bloodsuckers, it's what we do to survive."
Who knew how many lives had been killed by the seven men, even Jimin, but you knew you had to accept your fate. Killing humans was going to be a common thing, you had to suck it up—literally.
You weren't going to like it but you were a vampire now, it was your fate.
"Come on Y/N. Let's go home."
