15: To Protect

"Would it be a good idea to see him then?" You asked yourself once Jungkook had left, his words of Jimin having complications with his feelings staying with you. But what exactly was Jimin confused with that he had to block you out? Surely you weren't the reason...right?

"But him being cold towards me must mean it's about me," you told yourself, still confused about the whole thing. The Jimin you knew wasn't one to ignore a friend unless something were to happened that would cause him to block them out.

You sighed and decided to just leave it be. Jimin will talk when he wanted to, you had to solve another mystery; why Jungkook was bonded twice and why you.

"He says Yuri's great grandmother would know," you said pressing your lips into a thin line, still confused about the whole thing. You couldn't sleep at all with the thoughts running all over your head. It was a good thing Jungkook worked with you to have your thoughts just to yourself otherwise he'd really hate you. "Can't we go ask her? Or do you not know where she is?"

"Oh we know where she is," Jin affirmed. He was the only one you could really console to because you were more comfortable around him being that he was the first one you met after Yoongi and Jimin so you decided to ask him that night as the two of you headed out alone to feed. "She just doesn't like uninvited visitors," he told you.

Your head tilted to the side. "But you guys were Yuri's bodyguards."

"And we failed that job when we let her die under the sun."

"But you didn't," you argued. "You guys said Yuri did it all on her own, burning herself under the sun. You didn't let her do it, she did it herself."

Jin sighed and turned his body around to finally look at you as he had been staring elsewhere, stopping in his track. His arms crossed against his chest to address you. "Y/N dear, how would you feel if you've given all your trust towards the protectors of someone you love so dearly, giving them the job to take care of her, the job to have her kept safe without harm, and they go and let her out of sight which ends her life with nothing but ashes?"

You went quiet at his description. When he put it that it, it made sense as to why Yuri's great grandmother would have some hate towards the boys which frustrated you even more because now you really have no way to find out the reason to why Jungkook was bonded a second time. If you knew the answers, then maybe Jungkook's hatred towards you would lessen.

You wanted that. Although you hated to admit it, you were hurt by the fact that Jungkook hated you and for his reasons you were beginning to figure out. Whatever had happened to his last soulmate, Jungkook wasn't willing to tell you so you were left clueless all over again.

"We haven't seen her ever since our dismissal as bodyguards," Jin sighed as the two of you continued walking.

"Is that one of the reason why you're protecting me?" You pressed. "Because you feel guilty in some way towards her?"

Jin paused once more but this time he doesn't face you and instead shifted his attention towards the night sky above him. "In a way, yes," he admitted. "But we're doing this because we want to protect you too."

"Why?"

He shrugged. "I'm not so sure but I just feel this need to protect you." His eyes showed confusion yet there was a warm glint in them and so you knew Jin was being sincere. "Besides," he looked over at you with a small smile. "Who else will protect you if it isn't us?"

You wanted to thank him, to tell him how grateful you were towards him and the boys, even Jungkook and Yoongi because although those two wasn't great at saying so, they still showed concern and protection for you. But you didn't get the chance to because in that next moment, Jin's eyes turned into a horrified look as he grabbed you on the shoulder, turning you around forcefully and fast so that you had no time to register before something hits Jin on the back.

"Jin!"

He fell into your arms, gasping for air as his face scrunched up in pain. "J-Jin." Your heartbeat was pumping faster with fear consuming you as you stared at the helpless vampire in your arms.

"G-go, Y/N," he whispered, yelling at you to leave him but of course you weren't going to do that.

"Do you really think I'll leave you like this?!" Your body was shaking with fear and on your hands were the black liquid from Jin's body.

"Demon," the male gasped as he saw your hand.

"You don't have any cell phone now do you?" You asked him, rushing to search for that electronic on him when Jin's hand grasped yours, pulling your attention back on him. He whispered something that wasn't clear to you and you began panicking even more. "What?"

"Jungkook!" Jin repeated himself, making you gasp as you remembered your ability to speak to Jungkook through your mind.

Jungkook! Jungkook! Help!

"You'll be okay," you turned back to Jin, holding onto his hand tightly due to the fear of losing him and your life now being in danger because there was no one else to protect. The tears were spilling from your eyes and you felt so vulnerable at the moment.

Suddenly from the corner of your eyes, you saw a shadow that had quickly passed by, catching your attention the second your saw it. You slowly stood up, Jin being too weak to hold you back.

"Y/N, stay where you are. We're coming."

But it was too late because the next thing you knew, your body was surrounded by black mists and although you tried hard in escaping, you couldn't leave the darkness.

And then your vision went dark as your body weakened, causing you to fall into a pair of arms with your last sight being Jin's weak body laying on the ground helplessly.

Hey guys, final exams are coming up so updates will probably start slowing down, sorry. Ugh I hate school, they need to give me a break. But at least this school year's gonna end in like two weeks or so but until then, you'll have to wait 😬
