It was an understatement but you were scared.
Scared.
And if it hadn't been for the memories reminding you of everything he had done, you would had definitely lunged at him in full force.
But you didn't.
Because he still scared you.
You looked down at your wrists, the single reminder of them getting bruised through you trying to break away from those rough chains holding you back, and your grip on Taehyung's hand tightened.
You looked back up to find Zero staring right at you, a playful smirk dancing at his lips, causing a shiver to run down your body. "Hello again, princess."
Jungkook had visibly tensed at the nickname coming out of Zero's mouth. He clearly didn't liked it and you wondered why.
"Care to tell me how you escaped through my spells and ran back to them?"
Did he know?
That Hani had helped you? That his sister was on the side of his enemies?
You hoped not.
"What are you doing here, Zero?" Yoongi took over for you, knowing fully well that you were still afraid of him.
They all knew.
His eyes that landed on Zero was not of madness, there was no glaring daggers pinning at him unlike Jungkook's clear rage. Yoongi was just annoyed and bored of the whole thing.
"Taking back what's mine," the demon stated, his eyes still boring into yours.
Jungkook took a step backwards so that he was now closer to you and you stepped a little forward, finding refuge in the shield his body had given you from Zero. "She isn't yours," he growled. "She's ours."
"She's mine."
You eyes instantly snapped at him, trying to search for answers, wondering why he had said such a thing. But the only answer you could come to a conclusion to was the fact that he knew you were the reincarnation of Yuri; his old soulmate; his first soulmate; his first love.
So you allowed your eyes to fall. The drop in your stomach could be felt from both you and Jungkook.
Sensing it, his hand reached behind, blindly searching for the hand that held onto Taehyung's and was quick to dismiss his older brother so that he could be the one to replace the warmth.
A squeeze.
And another.
What was he trying to tell you?
Jungk—
"You aren't ever getting her and that's final," Jungkook declared, voice sharp and firm. "I won't allow you to take advantage of someone who's capable of having a soulmate, having a life of her own and not trapped in your hands."
Zero chuckled darkly, eyes finally leaving yours to Jungkook's instead.
"Are you still upset about the Yuri incident?"
He tensed against your touch but hadn't faltered. "Don't mention her name."
"As long as I'm around, I don't even need to mention her name to have you remembering everything about that incident." Zero's eyes gazed around at the rest of the guys, smirking. "That must've been tough for all of you, huh? To watch her wilt under the burning sun and had your privileges as guardians dissipate along with it."
He paused, then landed his eyes right back at you. "But lucky for you, this time she won't be dying, unlike Yuri."
"I said," Jungkook's voice dropped, a growl erupting, "don't mention her name."
