One.
Nine more to go until he could no longer teleport.
You looked at the surrounding, finding it a place you had never been in despite the fact that you've been in Zero's house before.
Smart, you scoffed at Zero's ways of thinking.
But something still displayed in your thoughts.
Where was Hani?
Jimin's eyes met yours, his brows furrowing and mind sharing that same thought of question.
You couldn't come to a conclusion though. There was no sign of Hani and as you turned back to looked at Zero, the man looked as carefree as ever.
"Since you won't give Y/N up that easily, I guess we'll be doing this the hard way." He extended his hands out once more, but this time rather than the darkness consuming you all, dark shadows appeared in its stead.
One of them took Hoseok away first, forcing his foot to fly just a few feet above ground, grabbing him far away from you. You gasped at the sight, wanting to reach forward to pull your friend back but then another one appeared, taking Taehyung. One by one, each of your guardians were taken away from your reach. They struggled to squirm away despite their best efforts.
Zero was the worst of the demons, meaning he was more powerful.
"Zero-"
"Your turn, Princess," he singsonged, using his fingers to gather the shadows around you so that they would fly you on over to him.
You could feel your arms weakening at the harsh grip, the way your chest was suddenly heavy with an invisible weight.
No.
You couldn't lose that easily.
It couldn't be an easy win for him.
Summoning up your strength, you forced your legs from restrains, kicking back and forth. But you could feel nothing but the air, as if the shadows weren't there.
They were just shadows after all, they weren't objects.
The satisfied laugh that fell out of Zero's lips had your blood boiling. If only you could do something about it though. But you couldn't with the tight grip the shadows had on you. They were shadows and you couldn't hurt them.
So maybe you could hurt the source.
Your eyes met Zero with an piercing glare but it didn't fazed him a bit. You could still remember the first time you met him, back in that dark alley when Yoongi had warned you not to walk but you foolishly thought you were safe otherwise.
His eyes were so dark that night and if it was possible, seeing him right there in that moment, perhaps his eyes were darker. They were more amused, and cold.
So so cold.
You shivered at the freezing feeling, breath beginning to appear white as you breathed hard.
It was so much colder than your first meeting. But you knew that Zero wasn't going to kill you and maybe that was a bad thing because you knew that he could hurt you.
Thinking back to when he made you watch him kill your parents, you saw no warmth in those icy eyes of his. They were nothing like Hani. Hani who always took care of you like a sister and loved you like one too. You wondered if Zero died, whether she'd grieve for him or not, whether she'd be angry at you because he was her brother. Evil or not, Zero was still family to her.
But only by blood. She didn't liked him.
You remembered her words clearly, "I'm on your side. I don't care that Zero is my brother, I will be quick to betray him if it means protecting you."
And perhaps Hani would show up to the show sooner or later. But for now, you had to hold on. For the guy's sake, for yours, and for the world. For the world that Yuri couldn't protect when she was alive. You were her successor and you weren't going to go down that easily.
"You're mine, Princess," Zero vowed, "only mine."
"I'm not yours, Zero," you stated firmly through clenched teeth. The shivers didn't go away but you were beginning to feel immune to the feeling. He couldn't keep hurting you like that, you were already used to so much pain. Pain from him killing you, to watching the death of your parents happening right in front of you, the long dangerous journey you had to go through just to retrieve the seraph blade, that disappointed feeling of being compared to someone else, and the idea of your unrequited love.
He thought that he had broken you, smiling when you flinched away from his eyes. But you weren't broken yet. It'd take a lot to take you down.
The words of Hoseok came ringing in your head. You were you, in control of your own thoughts and feelings. You weren't Yuri, you weren't anyone else.
"I'm my own person."
You were tainted with the cracks of a glass, ready to fall apart but still doing everything to hold the pieces together. But you weren't broken.
Summoning all your strength, you grunted aloud, feeling the strong hold on your foot as you tried to escape from the tight grip. It wasn't giving up but neither were you. The force held on but you were used to that force, almost similar to that force holding you back when you were in that galaxy.
Once you managed to get away from the hold, you raised your leg up and was quick to kick Zero hard on the stomach, causing him to fall back and lose control of his shadows.
You flew back along and as much as you wanted to say you landed back on your foot in a heroic style, it was your butt that landed first, making you wail aloud at the harsh impact.
"You okay?" Jin got to you first as he helped you up and though he held a composed expression, you knew the man wanted to burst out laughing.
"Been in worse conditions," you forged a tight smile.
"Come on little fries," the dumpling man gave you two pats on your bottom, right where it hurt, "you got this."
"Freak you Min Yoongi," you cursed at him yet he only replied with a playful wink.
Maybe it was to make light of the situation and you were glad for that short moment because the reality to it all was sort of like a life or death situation. And to have the seven guys by your side, fighting for and with you, you were so so grateful to no end.
Looking to each of your side, they gave you confident smiles, ready to fight for it all. You looked at Jungkook and though he still looked worry, you could feel his pride as he nodded at you.
Maybe you'd have a chance to talk to him again about all the feelings built up within you. If you won.
But for now, you turned your head back at the ice demon that was already back on his feet. He cracked his knuckles while the guys beside you scoffed, Jimin cracking his neck.
A smirk curl at the corner of your lips.
"Let's get turned up."
