I gave out a huff as I set the last box down and stared at the vacant apartment. We did it, we finally did it.
Ryder came in with both kids in his arms and looked around. "I can't believe it." He stated. He set Shawn down and Shawn screamed in joy and began to waddle around.
I walked over towards Ryder stealing Scar out of his grip and cradled her. "Our own space, we can make the rules." I cheered. "We can say whatever the fuck we want!" Ryder hollered. "Except, that." I stated turning back. With Shawn adoring his father he follows in his foot steps.
When shut mutters the word shit you damn well know Shawn is screaming shit too. If Ryder wears his favorite of jeans Shawn wants to wear his pair of jeans too. He just wants be like his Daddy.
Scarlett Joyce is three months old and the most precious baby I could have ever laid eyes on. She was born on January 21st, in 2018.
I couldn't help but look down at the sleeping beauty and admire her features. She looked like a spitting image of me. She had my eyes, Ryder's nose, my smile.
I set her down in her portable crib to let her rest some more. The more she sleeps the better.
Ryder and I managed to both graduate on time with school and to top it off we both got a lot of money as graduation gifts. We saved a majority of it back for a place of our own and spent some on a family vacation.
Both Ryder and I are in community college but doing online courses. With two kids and both full time jobs it seemed more realistic.
We saved up for a two bedroom apartment to begin with. Shawn his own room for the time being until baby Scar is old enough to sleep on her own. Ryder and I have a master bedroom which feels amazing, it's not as big as a regular master bedroom in a house but it's more spacious than Ryder's room in his parents house.
I couldn't help but gaze around once more with pure joy. We finally did it.
I walked into Shawn's room seeing him set up instructions for his crib. I sat down on the floor as well picking up pieces and standing it up.
"Babe, it's fine. I got this." "Let me help you though." I mumbled as I grabbed the instructions reading through them. I'd rather work as a team to get Shawn's room set up and Scarlett's part of the room done with so we could get the to sleep easy tonight.
We both began to build the bigger crib than what Shawn had before. After a couple of minutes we finished it in no time and began to decorate it setting pillows inside along with his favorite stuffed lion and his blanket.
We got up and made our way to the master bedroom and I gazed around unsure of where to set her crib.
"For now we should just build it and set it up against this wall." Ryder stated. "But that's where the dressers going to go." I argued. He rolled his eyes shaking his head. "Babe were not setting the dresser up today. We're getting the beds ready and that's it."
I sighed nodding my head and understanding. I squatted cutting open the box and began to scatter around the crib parts. Shawn began to cry out loud and I got up groaning and made my way outside to the living room. There he was laying on the ground sobbing uncontrollably with a half open box on it's side.
"Why did you crawl on the box?" I questioned. He cried and stared at me. "Shawn?" I questioned. He sniffles wiping his eyes. "Come here baby." I picked him up and brought him into the master bedroom.
"Sit right here." I stated as I set him down on our bare mattress that was laid down on the floor. He nodded his head still crying. I made my way inside the living room grabbing his toys and a blanket and made my way back inside the room.
