CHAPTER 2: SHINSENGUMI

EARLY MORNING

Kihara Fuyumi POV

I woke up early in the morning to tend to Taro, he always drinks water in the morning since his always thirsty, I gave him a bucket of water while he drinks from it, I was still wearing my night gown though but that really doesn't bother me at all.

"Fuyumi-chan?" I heard Chizuru call out

"I'm here Chizuru" I answered I heard her footsteps inside the house and then the door sliding open "Is something the Matter?" I asked

Yukimura Chizuru POV

"Is something the matter?"

"..." I was so surprised at Fuyumi-chan my eyes widen, she looked like a princess standing beside her horse, she was still wearing her night gown and her hair was still down...she looks so beautiful...
"Chizuru-chan" I snapped out of my thoughts when her voiced called out "why were you calling for me?" She asked with a blank look on her face...even though she shows no emotions at times she still looks very pretty...

"I was wondering if you wanted to be the first to take a bath..." I timidly said to her

"You can go first, I still need to feed Taro" she informs me

"Alright then" she turns back to her horse, she really looks like a princess from a story book...I'm way out of her league...She has an air of dignity and authority around her....

"Chizuru-chan" She calls out having an exasperated tone in her voice "Why are you spacing out and looking depressed like that?" she asked concern written all over her face, she puts the bucket down and comes towards me, she touches my forehead making me flinch at the sudden contact "It doesn't look like that you have a fever" she touches her forehead as well, her hand is so cold and yet so soft... "You should take a bath now, you don't have to wait for me, now come on" she gentle pushes me inside the house, when I was inside she smiled at me, I felt my cheeks heat up at her gentle looking face "We can't look for Kodo if you're not feeling well you know?" she informs me, I shook my head "Then you should hurry and prepare now" she advises before turning around going back to her horse again.

"..." I sighed and headed straight to the bathroom.

BATHROOM

"I'm still confused at the sudden appearance of Fuyumi-chan, but it's comfortable knowing that I have someone with me in going to Kyoto..." I said looking at the bucket of water in my hands "But she's still a mystery to me..." I muttered "She knows a lot about my Clan...and myself which I didn't know about...she doesn't look like the type of girl to lie or make things up since she's always serious talking to me...and I feel that she's genuinely concerned for me..." I said trailing off "But there are still a lot of things that I don't know about her though..." I poured the bucket of water on my head washing the excess soap on my body "But seeing as though she's my childhood friend, I should trust her." I said smiling to myself.

When I was done I wore my bathroom robe and stepped out of the bathroom, I noticed something delicious was cooking I peered inside the kitchen to see Fuyumi-chan, she was skillfully cracking eggs and stirring the rice it seems as though she was making fried rice with the leftover rice yesterday, she notices me and smiles.

"I wanted to do something since I'm already done feeding Taro, we need to keep our energies up if we're going to look for Kodo all day at Kyoto" she tells me

"Y-You really didn't have too..." She places a hand on her hip

"I wanted to cook you breakfast" she says with a firm tone in her voice "Now, go and change clothes already before you catch a cold" she says. I stared at her for a few moments before nodding...it feels as though I have a Sister now...it actually feels nice.
