Chapter 31: Piqued Interest

All of us were eliminating furies one after the other before we arrived at Sendai, and when night came a lot of furies were crawling all over the place like bugs some humans perished because of their encounter with the fake demons, I was very upset knowing that innocent human lives that has nothing to do with us nor the fakes got caught in this mess, I clicked my tongue a few times shaking my head

“What is the status on Sendai Castle Toshio?” I asked Toshio who just arrived from scouting the Castle

“There are a lot of those fakes sprawled all over the castle walls as well as inside” he informs me “We need a plan to take them out without alarming the ones inside and I already have a plan in mind” he says, I nod and got up from checking the lifeless human body on the ground “The other three went ahead to the forest, they are waiting for us” I smiled at him and nodded both of us teleported towards where they were, and he also explained the plan to me along the way but to my surprise they were engaged in battle

“???” They seem to be human but what caught my eye was the one wearing a black butterfly bracelet I immediately went in between them creating one copy of myself an illusion, to the two parties that were fighting their eyes widening in surprise “Cease your fighting this instant!” I growled there blades hitting my Ice daggers that I manifested “Kazama and Amagiri both of you” my voice was soft and quiet as to not alarm the enemy on watch “Stand down and step aside, I need to question this humans” I said, Kazama gritted his teeth but withdraw his sword and walked away while Amagiri immediately stepped away from the other small human
“You” he was still on guard but I rendered him motionless by freezing there feet on place, they couldn’t move “Where did you get that shadow butterfly bracelet on your wrist” The human glared at me

“I don’t think I have anything to say to you lady, were in a hurry so-” I cut him off when he was about to move his sword that was pointed at me

“I doubt that you are in any position to say anything human” I tapped my ice dagger on the tip of his blade and it slowly turned into ice the ice was creeping towards his hands

“Hijikata-san!” I was surprised at the sudden name that the little human said, the illusion of me teleported behind him and pointed the ice dagger towards his throat

“Shut up human, your voice is so annoyingly loud” He grits his teeth

“Hijikata…Hijikata Toshizo of the Shinsengumi?” I questioned “You must be him Fuyumi has told me stories about you…” I said I glance at the other human “And that annoying little loud mouth human must be Todou Heisuke?” I said “Tell me human…what are you doing fighting Kazama?”

“Heh, you should keep a leash on that guy” I nod

“Well, I suppose your right on that one” I agreed, Shiranui-san appeared beside me “Then let me ask you this, what are you doing here?” I asked
“isn’t it rude to just ask questions and not introduce yourself?” He sneered

“Kihara Yuriko, Kihara Fuyumi’s Eldest Sister” I informed them his eyes went wide “Now if you do not answer my question then I have no choice but to draw the truth out of you, I’ll ask once more, what are you doing here?”

“We’re here to rescue Chizuru she’s been kidnapped by Kodo” He answers, I pointed my dagger towards his wrist “Chizuru gave this bracelet to me, said that Kihara wanted to give it to me but couldn’t” he said, he wasn’t lying
