Chapter 27: Short Reunion

After what happened that night Shiranui-san still kept giving me forehead kisses or kisses from the cheek or face, he was always teasing me or attempting to seduce me, but I kept my composure while he always complains that ‘I’m not romantic’ so he’s the one that needs to keep the romance alive, I told him that what happens if the romance died off? He reassured me that it won’t since both of us are going to have more romance soon, I felt embarrassed at every word that’s coming out from his mouth, but he also told me that even If the romance isn’t there anymore we won’t fall out of love, because he’ll do everything he can to make me fall in love with him all over again, and if that doesn’t work he promised me and reassured me that he won’t ever leave my side even if that happens or whatever happens.

“We’re here” I was so lost in thought I didn’t even realize that we already arrived at Edo “what’s wrong princess?” he questions “need a kiss from me?” I glared at him while he laughs “Come on” he beckons, there was a check point at the entrance of town that I didn’t remember was there before, Shiranui-san talked to the men that was on guard for a moment before letting us pass

“What’s with the check point and guards Shiranui-san?” my eyes scanned the men while he kept himself close to Taro

“Things has change here while you were resting in the Kihara Manor Fuyumi” he explains “I should tell you about what happened to the Shinsengumi when you left” he furrows his eyebrows “New members were added to the Shinsengumi” I raised a brow curiosity in my eyes “but of course where there are allies there are also enemies” he smirked at me “well I’ll start with the new pages of the Shinsengumi” pages? “Seems like Hijikata was worried for the Yukimura kids’ safety when you left so they added two new pages to protect her, but the pages aren’t for Hijikata but for Kondo, I don’t really remember their name though” he shrugged “next is the vice-commanders friend” I was getting a little confuse at Shiranui-san’s story since he isn’t clear on what the name or on what distinguishable features they have he just kept on talking…and it became vaguer and vaguer by the minute “Ryouma also joined the Shinsengumi” that’s the first time he mentioned a name since he told me about the Shinsengumi.

“Okay…” I interrupted “So this guys joined the Shinsengumi” I said “but can you tell me of the events that happened already after I left” I impatiently said

“The Shinsengumi killed Itou” he proceeds to say “since I’m working with the Chōshū they ordered there men, to attack the Shinsengumi that day that Itou died, Itou was already in cahoots with the Satsuma and Chōshū domain, he wasn’t really one for a fair fight that human” I gave a knowing nod “when the Chōshū and the Satsuma attacked our opponents back then were, Harada” he grinned “that loud mouth and Harada’s best-friend”

“Heisuke-kun and Nagakura-san” I mentioned the name

“The Yukimura kid was also there, I don’t know why though but it looked like she was convincing that Heisuke fella to come back to the Shinsengumi” I inwardly sighed,
Chizuru’s habit…“anyways so we fought and that loud fella fought Amagiri, he was shouting all kinds of things to him saying that he wanted to redeem himself for the incident at Ikedaya Inn and Amagiri took him up on his challenge” I think I know where this is going… “Amagiri pulled no punches and he killed him” I was silent while he just shrugged “I don’t know why that Heisuke fella was rushing to his death but he died that day…” he gave a frown “but he didn’t stay dead since the Shinsengumi made that guy a fury”

“I thought so…” I breathe out “Wait, Shiranui-san” I said, we were in a nearby shop, so I got off Taro “Let’s chat here” I said to him, he gave me a curious look while I bought water, I made Taro drink the water by cupping my hands together then letting him drink “there you go” I stroke his nose after he finished while he bobs his head “I’ve been riding Taro for a while now, he must be tired” I smiled at him, both of us sat down the nearby seat while Taro was beside me “Go on then” I ushered
