Chapter 26: New Objective

Kihara Fuyumi POV

Time is a mysterious thing for the humans, beings such as us doesn’t bother with time but for humans time is precious to them. After Shiranui-san and I had our engagement battle Otōsama declared Shiranui-san winner by default, I objected at the result but Yuriko-nēsama pacified my anger by explaining what had happened after the battle, the demon in black that always appears in inconvenient places possessed me, she told me that I attacked them but because Okāsama neutralized my powers by using a purifying spell to counter-act the curse mark seal on my waste I wasn’t fully possessed by the demon but I caused inconvenienced to them…I hurt and killed our men…I resisted that demons control over me but he was strong…Yuriko-nēsama reassured me though that the curse mark has been draining my powers for a while now that is why that demon has easily taken control of my body, I edged her to continue but she told me that it is still not the time for me to know everything, when she was done calming me down, I turned to Shiranui-san

“I do not accept the decision of Otōsama that you have won Shiranui-san, even though he declared that you are the winner, we will have a rematch, you and I, until then I will set this aside and cooperate with you” I glared at him, he had this amused smirk on his face

“Sure. We can fight first before we get married Fuyumi, but right now, were supposed to be exchanging vows for formalities to formally be engaged” he informs me.

And so we did exchange engagement vows, and also precious heirlooms, Okāsama told me that I should give him the ceremonial wedding ornament that she gave me at the very beginning before I left the Kihara manor to protect Chizuru. We were officially engaged demons.

“…” I was at the underground spring bathing, my thoughts were swimming all over, no pun intended on that one

“Fuyumi-chan?” I heard my nēsama’s voice call out “you have been here for quite some time now, shouldn’t you get out already?” she questions, I glanced at her and shook my head “you are going to get very pruney when you step out of the water if you stay any longer” I didn’t respond she just sighs “you know Shiranui-san is waiting for you outside…” she reminds

No one really explained to me what I am supposed to do going with Shiranui-san, in fact no one explained to me anything, I felt like I was also in Kaoru-kun’s shoes not knowing anything, excuses being thrown at your face so that you could just shut up…I do suspect that they are being cautious towards me because of that demon…not only that but I also suspect that Okāsama and Otōsama have a plan for me that has something to do with the demon but they aren’t giving me any information or knowledge to keep me safe…the only thing that I do every day is teach Kaoru, do some paperwork, bathe in the spring and so on…I actually got bored being here in the Kihara Manor not doing anything major, although I do still train either with the new recruits or my siblings it was all just a common and daily routine for me every day so I still get bored. And that got me thinking about a lot of things. Beside the one with the plan. I actually feel that Takashi is already dead, when I think about shadow bodyguards and what they do in daily basis protecting us, it isn’t common for my own family to send our own shadow bodyguard for a long term mission, when I ask about Takashi they just dodge my question and excuse there selves or just dismisses me.

“I’m sorry to do this but Shiranui-san is waiting for you, Fuyumi-chan” she manipulates the water, and brought me to land

“I don’t want to get out of the spring yet nēsama” I told her

“Please dry yourself and cover yourself first before you say anything Fuyumi-chan” she tells me, I obey her and dried myself off “I notice that you aren’t very excited to see Shiranui-san, Fuyumi-chan are you not fond of him anymore?” she asks
