Chapter 36: 4 Years of Sleep Entering the Meiji Era

Kihara Fuyumi POV

“…” I felt my own fingers move, react if you would say “Mm…” My eyelids were heavy but it wasn’t impossible for it to move as well as open, but the lights were blaring, it’s hurting my eyes, but I need to see, so I opened my eyes blinking a few times before I see unfamiliar scenery, more like room “…” I wanted to get up but my whole body was numb especially my legs “Whe..” my mouth was very dry as well as my throat. “…” I tried clearing my throat a few times “Where” I finally had that scratchy feeling sorted out of my throat but my voice was hoarse and small “Where am I” I said to myself, I massaged my legs as well as my arms I feel like I am as delicate and soft as an over cooked vegetable, not a very great feeling over all plus the dry mouth and throat. I need water. Badly.

“…” I heard something rustle under my bed

“Shit” I breathe out I can’t exactly move so much since my whole body is not exactly ideal for combat right now but, I can conjure shadow spears if anything attacks me “Come out!” my voice wasn’t as intimidating as before “whoevers down there!” I shouted what I thought was an enemy hiding underneath the bed turned out to be “Cerberus!” I said startled, the shadow hound jumped on the bed and rubbed itself on my face “What in the world were you doing there?!” I told him “and why are you just one? Where’s your brother and sister?” Cerberus whined its ears folded down “Okay…” I gave a strange expression at what the shadow hound said “The other two is with Shiranui-san and Yuriko-nēsama and you stayed here because you wanted to guard me?” it howled “Alright, thank you for that” I tried moving my body to sit up “Can I ask you a favor?” it barked “Can you get me water please?” the dog rushed off going through the shoji door, just then I felt a familiar demon energy teleport from outside to here somewhere in this house or manor? I feel the energy of this whole place a manor rather than a  house I heard not one but two hounds barking, footsteps were heard outside the  room and the shoji door opened to reveal Shiranui-san and my two shadow hounds “Shiranui-san…” my eyes traveled on his form that was wearing a blue Kimono

“Fuyumi….” He breathes out almost in disbelief then immediately ran towards me

“W-Wait! The water!” thankfully before the water that was held in his hands break and spilled on the floor I managed to catch it with my powers levitating the water as well as the cup, returning the water in the cup and then floating it towards my held out hand, while Shiranui-san was embracing me, I drank the water and it was actually still not enough

“I’m glad that you finally woke up” I hummed, drinking the last drop of the water, I was still parched

“Before I asks questions and you promptly answer them can you give me another cup of water” I told him

“Sure…” he says letting go I gave him the cup and he went on his way and then came back with the water again while I drank

“Thanks I really needed that. Badly.” I pointed out “Okay, before anything else, what day is it? And how long was I asleep?” I asked

“It’s been four years, Fuyumi” I stared at him trying to sink the words in my mind at what he said

“Come again?” I said wanting him to repeat what he said

“You’ve been asleep for four years, Fuyumi” he repeated, I felt like I was going to collapse in shock but, I don’t really want to sleep anymore because I have been sleeping for four years

“Four years…” I gave out a humorless laugh “What the hell happened?! Why was I asleep for four years?! Dammit! It’s not enough that I’ve been collapsing and fainting for days and now it became years!” I angrily shouted
