Fighting for One

"so have you guys got any anniversary plans?" Nat asks me and Steve as we walk into the jet to join the team, "I have a couple of ideas" Steve smirks. "oh really you gonna tell me?" I ask him, "nope it's a surprise" Steve smirks. "I mean two years married, does it feel like it?" Nat asks, "it feel longer than that doesn't it cap" Tony laughs, "hey!" I complain. "no it feels much shorter" Steve smiles down at me, "right answer" I smirk reaching up to kiss him. "right if you two are done, steve you wanna go through the plan again?" Tony asks, "yeah sure, this mission isn't going to be easy, it's one of the largest bases we've ever attempted to take. Stick to your partners and cover each other's backs at all costs, as soon as the intel is collected and the explosives set get out of there, they might just surrender before we even have to detonate but just to be on the safe side. There is a cliff with a large drop on the west side of the base, don't let yourself get pinned there, everyone clear?" Steve orders. "all clear cap" Clint calls from the pilot seat, "what back-up do we have?" Sam asks, "Strange is on stand by to teleport over if we need it, but that's it, T'Challa is busy, the guardian are in a different galaxy, and Parker has a maths test" Tony explains. Once we landed we all ran out and began attacking the base, just like we thought it was heavily guarded but nothing we couldn't handle. Me and Steve had found ourselves on the west side of the base and had been separated by the large group of agents the surrounded the both of us. I had been slowly pushed back by the enemy but I only had a few more agents to take out, just as I took out the last one when I felt the ground move beneath me. I glance down only just realising how close to the edge I actually was, just as I take a step forward the ground falls out from beneath me. As I fell I managed to grab hold of a ledge stopping me from plummeting to my death. "Steve!" I shout out but I only hear him grunt as he continued to fight, "Steve!" I shout even louder. "(Y/N)?" I hear him call out a few moments later, "Steve over here!" I call out. he soon appears at the edge of the cliff, "oh my god (Y/N), hold on!" he shouts reaching over to try and reach me "I am!" I shout his hand just out of reach. "Steve please" I cry out feeling my fingers closer to giving out, " just hold on a little longer, Stark I need you over here now!" Steve shouts still trying to reach me hoping Stark could come and save me. Steve's hand gets over so closer and I hear Tony's repulsors in the distance just as the ledge I was holding onto gave way and I began to fall again failing to grab onto another ledge. I hear Steve shouting my name as I fell and as it suddenly went black. When my eyes opened again I expected to see just a white light but it was a dark room I found myself in. I glance around and notice a fluid filled bag that was bright golden and glowing, the bag was connected to a drip that was going into my hand the burning sensation of it entering telling me I was actually alive. I fought through the pain as I sat in the room alone as the bag slowly emptied, once it finally was a man entered the room. "who the hell are you, where the hell am I?" I demand, "calm down solider, you're home" the man says, "soldier? you don't think I recognise a Hydra agent when I see one, I am not your soldier" I growl. "this is your home now, your team, your husband aren't rescuing you" he tells me, "you clearly don't know my husband" I state, "really?" he says showing me a video of the entire team all back at the compound laughing and having fun. "believe me now?" he asks, I just glare at him, was the team really not looking for me? "right just be safe we better wipe you" he says as a couple more agent walk in with a machine. "hell no" I say breaking out of my restraints, I could feel this new power surging through me, going on a hunch I force my hands out and send all the agents flying. I made my way out of the base taking out agents with my new powers, making them fight each other with mind control. Soon enough I was out and free, I made my way back to the compound. Once I finally got there I made myself levitate so I was on top of on the building that looked into the communal floor. I crouched down and looked in seeing the entire team there, and just like the video the man had showed me there were all laughing and talking, even Steve. I glance down at my hand seeing the wedding and engagement ring, anger boils within me and I take off the rings leaving the compound for good.
