Endgame Part 3

A/N: this is a short part, but its because the i wanted a forth part and hopefully you'll see why when I post the forth part. Enjoy!

Finally the glove was ready "question is who's gonna snap their freakin' fingers?" rocket asks glancing round at us. Thor rushes forward "I'll go it" he says, "excuse me?" tony says stepping in the way "its fine" thor says waving his hand dismissively reaching for the glove. We all surge forward to stop him "thor, just wait" I say putting a hand on his shoulder "we haven't decided who's gonna put that on yet" I tell him. "I'm sorry, what. We're all just sitting around waiting for the right opportunity?" he asks looking back at me. "we should at least discuss it" Scott points out, thor turns to look at him "look sitting here staring at the thing is not gonna bring everybody back, I'm the strongest avenger okay? so this responsibility falls upon me, its my duty" thor says looking back around at everyone. Tony pushes him back gently "normally you're right" he says trying to calm thor down "stop it! just let me" thor snaps. thor then swallows visibly holding back tears as he looks back at tony "please just let me, let me do something good, something right" he begs. Tony sighs sadly "look its not just the fact that glove is channelling enough energy to light up a continent. I'm telling you you're in no condition" tony tells him calmly. "what do you think is coursing through my veins right now?" thor asks him, "cheese whiz" Rhodey offers. Thor puts up a hand to silence him, he glances over at me and I shake my head slightly telling him this wasn't the time. "lightning" thor explains, "lightning won't help you pal" Bruce says speaking up "its gotta be me, you saw what those stone did to thanos, they almost killed him, none of you could survive" he sighs walking over to the glove. I step forward holding up a hand "how do we know you will?" I ask him, "we don't" he sighs looking down at the glove "but the radiations mostly gamma, its like, like I was made for this" he says. I glance around the room at everyone "Bruce are you 100% sure" I ask him, he nods slightly "what have I got to lose?" he says. Bruce picked up the glove and we got ready, I grabbed my helmet from the side putting it on to protect myself. "good to go yeah?" tony asks him, "lets do it" he says. "okay remember, everyone thanos snapped away five years ago, you're just bringing them back to now, today. Don't change anything from the last five years" tony tells him. Everyone gets ready, either stepping back, or putting on their suits to protect themselves. "Friday will you do me a favour and activate barn door protocol will ya?" tony asks, "yes boss" Friday says as metal coverings protect the outside world, "everybody comes home" Bruce says as he slowly puts the glove on. Once full on energy surges bringing Bruce down to one knee, "take it off! Take it off!" thor shouts. "no wait Bruce are you okay" I say holding up a hand to stop thor. Bruce continues to groan in pain and energy courses up his arm "talk to me banner" tony says, "I'm okay" he finally says clearly still in agony. Thor holds up a couple of thumbs up stepping back again, the energy seems to intensify and Bruce yells more but manages to click his fingers collapsing back down afterwards. "Bruce" I shout kneeling down beside him as clint kicks the steaming glove aside. Bruce's arm was all burnt all the way up to his neck, he grabs my arm as tony sprays cooling liquid onto his arm. "did it work?" he asks up, "we're not sure, its okay" thor tells him. I glance up and see clint walking over to his phone and Scott looking out the window, I just hear Scott muttering something about it when the entire room explodes.

I feel someone kicking my leg making my wake with a gasp, I see tony looking down at me "that"s my man" he says, he kneels down next to me "you lose this again, I'm keeping it" he says holding my shield. I glance around to see the compound in ruins around us. "what happened?" I ask, "you mess with time, it tends to mess back" tony says "you'll see" holding out a hand to help me up, I fight through the pain to sit up. I follow him outside where we find thor, I look out to see thanos sat there waiting for us. "what's he been doing?" tony asks, "absolutely nothing" thor says glaring over at thanos. "where are the stones?" I ask not taking my eyes off of thanos, "somewhere under all this" tony sighs gesturing out to the wasteland that was the compound "all I know is he doesn't have 'em" he adds. "so, we keep it that way" I tell him, thor glances up at me "you know it's a trap right?" he says. "yeah, I don't much care" tony sighs, thor nods his head slightly "good" he mutters "just as long as we're all in agreement" he adds summoning his armour, hammer and axe. "lets kill him properly this time" he says glaring over at thanos, before we start walking down over to thanos. "you could not live with your own failure" thanos says looking over at us "where did that bring you? back to me. I thought by eliminating half of life the other half would thrive, but you've shown me that's impossible. And as long as there are those that remember what was, there will always be those that are unable to accept what can be, they will resist" thanos says looking at the three of us. "yep we're all kinds of stubborn" tony tells him, thanos look back over at him "I'm thankful" he says "because now, I know what I must do. I will shred this universe down to its last atom and then with the stones you have collected for me, create a new one teaming with life that knows not what it has lost but only what it has been given, a grateful universe" thanos explains as he puts on his helmet and grabbing his double ended sword. "born out of blood" I say scowling over at him, "they'll never know it" thanos says "because you won't be alive to tell them" he says smirking evilly over at me.

thor summons lightning and yells as we all begin to attack him, tony swiping down at him, as I threw my shield. Running over to him to attack him swings his sword but I use my shield to deflect it causing me to be thrown to the side. I groan in pain as I climb back up onto the battlefield, I see thor using both his hammer and axe to summon lightning to supercharge tony's suit so he can blast thanos. It goes wrong for them though because as thor hits his hammer with this axe, thanos picks tony up to use him as a shield causing tony to go flying as the hammer hits him. I growl at thanos before running over and kicking him in the head, I hold my sheild up to block his punch but he still had the power to send me flying back down to the ground. I lie there for a moment trying to catch my breath and wait for my vision to stop being blurry, everything still hurt from the explosion. My eyes finally focus and I see thor being punched repeatedly by thanos, he reaches out for his axe but thanos catches it instead and starts pushing it towards thors chest. I then spot thors hammer and a memory from nearly 10 years ago now flashing into my head. I reach out my hand and concentrate, slowly rising to my knees, I feel something beginning to happen and a tugging sensation in my gut. Suddenly the hammer flew into my hands, I didn't have much time to react though before I threw it with all my force towards thanos. It hits his in the head pushing him to the side, I feel the tugging sensation again as I recall it and it flies back into my hands again. Thanos turns to look at me before kicking thor into the ground, I start swinging the hammer and begin running towards the titan. He goes to bring his sword down on me but I uppercut him with the hammer sending him flying backwards. I smile to myself slightly, finally I wasn't the one being sent flying. As thanos gets back up I throw my shield at him but he deflects it, so I throw the hammer at my shield the energy created making thanos lose his footing slightly. I recall both the shield and the hammer attacking with both while he was distracted, landing hit after hit pushing thanos back. I then decide to try summoning lightning, I felt the energy surging through me and into the hammer before I fire it towards thanos sending him flying back into the ground. I leap towards him to bring the hammer down onto him but he rolls out of the way just in time, he grabs me round the neck lifting me up and throwing me to the ground. I roll away and stand up just as he swings his sword, I duck out of the way narrowly missing the blade each time he takes a swing. I hit away one attack with my shield only to miss the one that catches my leg. I shout in pain before going to swing the hammer at him but he catches my wrist and punches me in the gut causing me to go flying backwards, losing hold of the hammer. He advances on me and I hold up my shield as he brings his sword down, I look up in shock as his sword embeds itself into the shield. I barely defend myself as he repeatedly brings down his sword, hacking away bits of shield with every hit. He brings me to the ground and I glance at my half broken shield before he swings again sending me flying back. I hit the ground with a hard thud rolling hitting multiple bits of rubble. I groan in pain going to get back up but my body just refused. I breath through the pain, my mind then goes to (Y/N), who is out there somewhere right now. she probably has no clue what is going on right now, if I didn't stop thanos now that will be it. we'd never see each other again, she'd be back only to go again. "in all my years of conquest, violence, slaughter, it was never personal, but I'll tell you now what I'm about to do you your stubborn annoying little planet, I'm gonna enjoy it, very very much, especially those who you hold dear to you" thanos tells me. My anger from the last 5 years boils my blood and gives me that last bit of energy I needed to stand, I see his vast army behind him and I tighten the straps on my shield. I walk towards him getting myself ready, if this was going to be my last stand I was going to take as many of these bastards down with me. A voice makes me pause "hey cap you read me?" I hear Sam say through the comms "cap its Sam, can you hear me?" he repeats. I raise my hand to my ear to check I wasn't hearing things "on your left" Sam says, I turn around and see a portal appear. I see T'challa, shuri and Okoye walk through, I can barely hold back the tears as more portals open and more allies walking through bringing armies with them. I see peter, Sam and bucky, I glance round to look at thanos who was looking out at the arriving army. I feel a hand touch my shoulder and I turn around to see her, "hey cap" (Y/N) says tears in her eyes, I could barely stop myself from breaking down. I couldn't bring myself to say anything I was in shock, (Y/N) nodded her head at me "we're back, now lets get this bastard" she tells me cupping my cheek. I nod my head turning back to face thanos "AVENGERS!" I yell summoning thor's hammer "assemble" I growl.
