I was sat in the labs doing some research with Bruce, well at least trying to. Tony was also in the labs not doing anything, I could tell he was bored as he would not shut up. "seriously tony what is with you this morning? Did you down a litre of coffee or something?" I ask after he had dropped a tool he was fiddling with "no but I could do with some coffee" he says pushing his wheelie chair across the lab towards me. "then go get one" I say turning my attention back to the microscope, "do you want one?" he asks. "yeah just a caramel latte please" I say not looking up from my work, "coming up Bruce?" tony asks, "no I'm good thanks" Bruce says. "cool coffee's coming right up" tony says standing up, just as he gets to the door he stops "oh no I can't get them anymore" he says trying to sound disappointed "and why not?" I ask. "Clint has asked for my help with something, don't know how long it will be" tony sighs shrugging his shoulders innocently, "(Y/N) why don't you go get them" he suggests. I go to protest but he cuts me off "great, FRIDAY tell everyone (Y/N) is doing a coffee run and to send their orders" tony says, "oh course, miss (Y/L/N) I have sent the orders to your phone" Friday says. "great this is going to take ages" I sigh standing up looking at the long list of orders "wait who ordered the unicorn Frappuccino?" I ask. "mr Wilson did" Friday informs me, "why am I not surprised" I sigh heading out of the labs. As I grabbed my bag I bumped into Steve "oh hey (Y/N) I'm guessing tony tricked you into doing a coffee run" he says, "yeah and now I have a very long list of coffee's to go get" I sigh, "hey I'll help out, help you carry them all back" Steve offers. "thank you Steve that would be great" I sigh thankfully, "come on lets go before tony gets annoyed" Steve smiles. Me and Steve talked the entire way to the nearest starbucks, we talked about pretty much everything. Once we got there we placed the order "oh and with one of the black coffee can you put cold water in instead of hot?" I ask, Steve raises a brow at me "who's the unlucky one?" he asks, "tony hopefully he won't trust me to get the coffee's again meaning I don't have to do this coffee run ever again" I explain making Steve laugh. "okay that's $40.45 altogether" the barista says, "whoa (Y/N) that's a lot let me pay for it" Steve offers, "no its okay I took tony's credit card" I tell him as I pay for the drinks "how did you manage to get that?" Steve laughs "well when tony gets bored he leaves stuff lying around such as his wallet" I explain. " hey uh (Y/N) I was wondering if by any chance you would like to go out for a meal sometime, just you and me?" Steve asks nervously, "like a date?" I ask, "yeah, I mean if you want?" Steve says. I smile up at him "I'd love to, just tell me when and where" I say, "uh how about tomorrow and I'll pick you up at 7?" Steve suggests. "pick me up we live in the same building" I smirk, "well pick you up from your room then" Steve laughs. "cool tomorrow at 7, can't wait" I smile as we begin to walk back to the tower with the drinks.

"there you are Nat" I say passing her the coffee she asked for, "thank you, did you have a big order" she asks reclining back in her chair. "very big the only person that didn't order something was Bruce" I explain sitting down, "well good job carrying all of them back" Nat says raising her coffee, "well I had some help" I admit. "oh really who came with you? I'm guessing not tony" she says, "no Steve actually" I say smiling to myself remembering that I had a date with him. "what's that smile for?" Nat smirks, I shake my head looking down at my coffee "its nothing" I say. "that means that it is something? What happened?" she asks persistently, "nothing happened" I lie "you're lying, was it something with Steve?" Nat asks sitting forward. "maybe" I mutter, I look up slightly to see Nat's jaw dropped, "what did he do? Did he ask you out?" she says excitedly. I nod my head in answer making Nat jump up and down in her seat "yes I knew it! oh my god I'm so happy for you!" she exclaims, "whoa calm down, firstly I don't want you to spill your coffee on me and secondly its just a date it may not even work out, I mean I've had my fair share of bad first dates" I laugh. "yeah but its Steve there is literally nothing wrong with the guy" Nat says, "which means it must be me" I tell her. "can I be honest?" Nat asks, "I'm probably going to regret this but yeah go ahead" I say, "you are terrible at the whole dating thing" she says, "thanks" I say sarcastically. "I mean you are great but you aren't good at the whole couple thing, I mean you don't do the whole dressing up to make you look amazing" she says, "again thanks" I tell her, "more amazing than normal" she corrects "but like sharing food, the whole flirting thing etc" she says. "okay so what do I do, the date is tomorrow that doesn't give me a lot of time" I sigh, "(Y/N) you are literally talking to me, if tony can throw a party in that time I can make you an expert in dating in that time" Nat says, "okay what's first?" I ask her. "have you still got tony's credit card?" she asks, "yeah still got it" I say holding it up, "good don't give it back just yet because you need a killer outfit" she says "we'll go in a couple of hours". We then hear tony shout my name from all the way down in the labs "we need to go now" I say standing up abruptly, "why?" Nat asks me confused, "I put cold water in tony's coffee instead of hot as pay back" I tell her as we quickly head to the elevator . "nice payback, passive aggressive I like it" Nat smirks, "I know right its my speciality" I agree as we made our way out of the tower. I spent the rest of the day with Nat as she brought me a whole new outfit and told me how to act on the date, I could tell some of the things weren't typically me but I really like Steve and I wanted this to past a first date.
