Sarah's POV

"seriously what are you going to do about it, get your superhero mommy and daddy to deal with it?" Jessica snarls as she backs me into the lockers, I struggle to form words as my mind goes blank only. My eyes flicker to the growing group of people around me "you know I really do doubt that you're their daughter, how can the daughter of two superheroes be so weak and insignificant?" she continues gently picking at the hoodie I was wearing. She smirks at me before letting out a small laugh, "really? Nothing? Would have thought you would have done something to me by now, called mommy or daddy, or their little team" I take a deep shaky breath trying to steal my nerves, Jessica notices this and slams me into the lockers "because trust me if you do, I can still make your life a living hell" she mutters. When I don't respond she just laughs motioning for all of her friends to follow her as she left school, trying to keep myself calm I open my locker not caring if I remembered to pack all my books. I slam it shut shouldering my bag and leaving this place that I only know as hell, I decide to take the long way back to the tower just to avoid anyone else.

(Y/N)'s POV

I was just carrying some files over to tony when sarah rushed past me "whoa hey slow down there, you okay? How was school" I smile reshuffling the files I almost dropped, sarah turned to me with a slight smile "oh sorry, yeah it was good, got some homework to do first, I'll see you at dinner" she says quickly before rushing of again. I raise a brow at her questionable behaviour but decide nothing of it and continue my way into the labs, when I get there I almost drop the files again "TONY! GET YOUR SUIT OFF OF MY SON!" I yell making the two boys freeze in their spots. "Steve said it was okay" tony says quickly removing the parts of the suit that my son was wearing, "what did I say was okay?" Steve asks entering the labs tablet in hand. "did you say they tony could put his suit on james?" I ask crossing my arms at him, Steve looks over at tony and james just noticing the iron man suit pieces in tony's hands. "for god's sake tony I said you could show him your new suit not put it on him!" Steve yells glaring at tony "james you're 14 you should know better" he sighs turning to james. "james off you go, do homework or something" I sigh gesturing for him to leave, james slowly sinks off of the platform he was stood on making his way to the door "I'm really sorry mom and dad" he says pausing at me and Steve. Steve smiles gently "it's okay, tony's the one in trouble not you" he says placing a reassuring hand on James's shoulder before gently pushing him towards the door. "so the 14 year old get off scot free but I'm the one in trouble?" tony scoffs placing down a piece of his suit loudly "tony, just don't okay I don't want to get into an argument over this" Steve sighs crossing his arms. Tony drops his head in defeat knowing Steve was right "okay, what do I have to do this time?" he sighs, I raise a brow and look up at Steve who nods his head in agreement "you're on dinner duty instead of us tonight" I smirk. Tony sighs "for the whole team? Or just your little family?" he asks, "the whole team, oh and I heard thor was stopping over tonight" I tell him "Clint and his family too" Steve adds trying to suppress a laugh. "I better get started then" tony sighs sulking his way out of the labs.

I made my way back down towards the floor that tony had made especially for our family, passing by the kids bedrooms I pop my head in to check on them. I found james playing on his hand held console that tony made him "haven't you got homework you should be doing?" I ask walking over to his desk "nope, finished it all, it's all on there if you want to check" james says not looking up from his game. Giving him the benefit of the doubt I leave him to continue gaming in peace, sarah's door was as normal shut completely so I give it a slight knock before opening it. "hey how's the homework coming?" I ask poking my head in, she turns around closing her laptop quickly "good, almost done" she says smiling slightly. "okay, is everything okay? Something you want to talk to me about?" I ask stepping in slightly, she shakes her head smiling "no guess I'm just tired after a long day of school" she says. "oh okay, well maybe get an early night tonight then, oh and thor is coming over for dinner tonight so I would eat while you can" I say leaving her to carry on with her homework. I find Steve again sat in the living room with the tablet in his hand again "seriously Steve you are worse than the kids when it comes to this damn thing" I laugh swiping it out of his hands as I sit down. Steve furrows his brows at me "no I'm not, plus this has to do with work" he says taking it back from my grasp, "okay what is it then?" I ask putting my feet up on his lap. He glances down at them and raises a brow at me "a lead on the HYDRA agent we've been after for a while now, it seems to check out as well" he says passing the tablet so I could read it. as I take it I poke him in the stomach with my foot and wiggle both my feet indicating what I wanted "really?" he sigh poking one of my toes, "yes I've been wearing heals all day, now get to it" I say not looking up from the tablet. Steve chuckles but begins to massage my feet, as I read the file I look to see how many of us it would need "Steve I don't think this is one we can opt out of" I sigh glancing up at him. He stops massaging my feet for a moment "no me neither, it's two weeks long too" he sighs "I think it's the longest we're going to be away from the two" he glances in the direction of the bedrooms. "they'll be fine though right, they're 14 and 16 plus Maria will be here" I say quietly hoping they wouldn't be able to hear us, Steve nods in agreement "yeah plus FRIDAY will be monitoring the whole tower for tony anyway" he adds "you sure they'll be okay with it?" he asks placing his hands over my feet. "no, but at least we know that they're safe, and they know we have the team looking out for us" I sigh.
