Loren and the ladies,
Tended the injured.
The Doc, AJ,
And three others were hurt.
Doc UB
Was treated first,
He was unconscious
And injured the worst.
Next was AJ
With a deep wound on his chest,
He had burns on his body
His left arm in a cast
The others were bystanders
Caught by the explosion
One broke a leg, one lost a tooth
The other, a concussion.
When all was done,
Loren went back to AJ,
She thought he slept,
But he was sitting up, wide awake.
"How's the doc?"
"He's holding up."
"What about Billy?"
"Billy? Him, I haven't seen.
I think he was taken by Lou,
And her friend."
AJ took a deep breath,
If it wasn't for Billy
He and the doc would be dead.
He then remembered
The others in prison,
Tex Mex
And Bruce, Buck's twin.
"Penny for your thoughts?" She asked.
"I wonder if they escaped the blast."
"Who?"
"Tex Mex and Bruce."
AJ told her,
How it came to be,
How Tex Mex managed
To blow up the TNT.
"Tex Mex was desperate,
And he was laughing like mad.
He had it in his eyes, Loren.
He wanted us dead."
AJ saw anger in Loren's face.
"But I don't think he survived,
He took the brunt of the blast.
But Bruce, I saw him take cover,
He dove under the bunk real fast."
Loren nodded.
"Well, I hope Tex Mex
has seen the last of his days.
And until the fire's put out,
We could only guess."
She kissed his forehead,
Made him lie down
"But for now, you have to sleep.
Put your mind to rest, AJ.
I'm here beside you,
I'll keep you safe."
AJ chuckled
Glad she was by his side
He gave her a smile,
Then closed his eyes.
