Harriet Folio . . . Librarian

The unusual Conestoga wagon

pulled up in front of town hall

The driver was a woman

not much bigger than a doll

The lettering on the wagon said

Book Emporium on the Go

And the little librarian's name

was Harriet Folio . . . Librarian

She was here to make a deal

for some place to show her books

where folks could come to borrow

sit and read in little nooks

It would only cost a nickel

and they could keep it for a week

and if they needed longer

a penny for each peek

Kay's Investigations

was empty most of the time

She did a lot of traveling

when she was fighting crime

The council said they'd set it up

be great to have a town library

They all agreed it would

bring culture to the prairie

First thing she did was paint the door

Then she hired Unger to make a sign

He put his talents to the chore

And produced a splendid sign of pine
