A Windmill in Time
It seemed Frank had a spring in step
At running guns he'd been inept
But Sue gave such encouragement
That Frank avoided tragedy
And so they both arrived to work
At Prairie Home Academy
Frank and Sue they looked around
saw the fields with wheat in ground
Two families here making a living
had took the chance that they'd been given
We can get the windmill made just over yonder field
I'm sure that when the wheat is grown they'll have a bumper yield
Hugh has ordered stone from Kent, needed to grind the grain
Grind stone and the base will soon arrive by fast steam train
The biggest spinning whirly thing that Frank had once attempted
Was a wooden Ferris wheel he'd made in Hemel Hempstead
So Frank and Sue took hammer saw to make a windmill tall
Tongue and groove, mortis tenon, joists and nails an all
When this mill is finally built she's going to look a beaut
How we going to fix the sails, with wood or cloth or scoops ?
Sue said, 'Frank just come and sit
You really ought to rest a bit'
Frank took heed and rested in the swinging wooden chair
Sue came sat down next to him, I guess, she knew,
....he cared
Frank
put his arm
around Sue
and they dozed off for a while
If anyone had been and seen
Sue slept with happy smile
