The Plot Thickens
Lou put the players into play
This has been such a strange day
First Shamus, then Buck, then Enzo
Now Bruce. It's enough to think
A girl's got a screw or two loose.
Still it was interesting to see
How well Bruce played along
So effortlessly.
With just a simple smirk
He understood.
Now, that's teamwork!
Lou set the bate
Mentioning the diamonds and hotel
It seemed her ploy for Enzo fell
Yet Enzo finding Bruce second rate
Wanted to set up a second date
He scribbles,
"Ah signorina , you must forgive me.
It's time I get back to work you see.
Signor Ger, Is getting ready.
Will I have the pleasure of seeing you?
Perhaps without your friend Bruce?"
"What without me?
Who does he think he..."
Enzo wrote to Bruce right quick.
"I, Enzo, know who I am,
thank you very much,
signor sidekick."
Lou had to admit
She was impressed
Bruce took the hit
Yet she could tell it stung his pride.
"No worries," Lou teased.
"Enzo is smart enough to see
I just keep you on the side.
For some... extra curricular activities."
"Extra curricular activities?"
Bruce's smirk he did not hide.
His look held hope and promise.
"Until next we meet again, signorina."
Enzo scribbled
He gave Lou's hand a kiss.
Enzo moved on.
"You think he fell for our ploy?"
Bruce had a wicked grin,
"Sorry, still thinking about that other thing."
"Dream on, Cowboy."
"Come on, Lou. No need to play coy."
With a roll of her eyes, she said,
"You ready to ride?"
Yet, it grated Lou's nerves
that his company
She was starting to enjoy.
Her own smirk
She found hard to hide.
