What's Done in the Dark
Annie read Will's campaign statement and thought,
"This thing doesn't read the way that it ought.
It's snappy and catchy, but it's just a bunch of fluff.
He doesn't talk about the problems in BG or any other stuff."
She tracked him down a few times, but he was always evasive.
His fancy rhymes and big words were pretty dissuasive.
He tried selling her some knives, but Annie politely declined.
This was a hard task that she'd been assigned.
The General had been following her and nosing around,
looking for sugar cubes anywhere they could be found.
During her dinner with Brody, she met Will again
and started talking to him. But then...
Brody got up and left.
Annie felt bereft.
At AJ's behest
Brody left some buns on the table for Annie.
They were sweet and made her more happy.
She walked home in the dark, humming a little ditty.
Then she saw Will Barter, headed home from Tent City!
"I'll follow him," she decided, tiptoeing after,
trying hard to contain her excited laughter.
She peeked through his window and let out a squeak.
She scribbled in her notebook and away she did sneak.
