A New Mayor for BG
Myna found Lorne
Staring at his star
Pondering how it was
His life had come this far
A lawless life
until that night
He'd lost his Father
And seen the light
The law had been
His safe haven
For so many years
He looked up at Myna
And seen her
unshed tears
"Are you certain
You wish to give
This up for me?"
He placed the star
In its box
"Most definitely."
"I've been hiding
Behind it what seems
Like my whole life
Now it's time to find
Who I can really be
Guiding the town of BG
With you as my wife
I honestly thought
I'd die alone.
Now I have you,
Loren, AJ, Gyn
And this place
To call my home.
I won't lie
It'll take some time
To adjust.
But I'm more
Than willing
To do what I must."
He pulled her into
His embrace
His roughened fingers
Caressed her face
"Myna I'm in debt to you
One I doubt I could ever repay
You've given me love, a life,
And hope that some day
Our children's children
Might look back and see
A man who loved his wife
His life, and his family
I'm ready for whatever
This life holds in store
So long as I'm by your
Side forevermore."
He kissed her lips
Caressed her hair
Loren yelled
"The judge is here!"
Up the stair
He was reluctant
To let her go
She took his hand in hers
Somehow she did know.
He needed her strength
To stay by his side
She held onto him
And they stepped outside
The entire town
Had turned out to see
Lorne Order sworn in
as Mayor of BG
The crowd erupted
Into applause
Lorne knew he now
Had a new cause
As the Judge had
Sworn him in
To lead the town
He swore to the
Residents of BG
He would not
Let them down.
