I have no track of time. But I don't care. Days fold endlessly into one another. There's no distinction. It's simply all beauty, traveling all around me. It makes me feel unlike anything I've ever felt before. I can't really explain the feeling. It's like relief mixed with ease. It makes me want to be a better person. It makes me feel like I am a better person. I never want to leave. I love it here and I feel loved by my surroundings. I occasionally hear murmurs from the sky. The sounds are soft, deep, and soothing but that's about as much of a distinction as I can make.
I have no grasp of the reality I once lived in. The people, the places, the memories. Nothing. I soar through the sky. As I'm floating, the clouds shift and form a face of some sort. Strange. Soon enough the face fades back up into the sky. Gone.
George's POV
I haven't left her side since the doctor told me he put her into a medically induced coma. He did it to her so that way he could best figure out what to do about the poison. Apparently the dumb bastard didn't get it all or it's multiplying or something and it's starting to break down her organs. If I could, I'd take a swing at the bloke. Instead I settle for being planted firmly at her side. I don't care if I'm in his stupid way.
The lads check in on me every now and again. They have girlfriends and families, John, so I understand they can't be with me all the time. Days slowly crawl by. Soon it's been nearly two weeks. I ask the doctor about the poison he sent to the lab every time I see him. That's probably why he's begun to send nurses more often rather than himself. Still no word from the laboratory though.
It's nighttime, nearly two am. I close the book. I read to Kara everyday. Supposedly people in comas can hear when someone talks to them. I don't really know though. I lean over her and gently kiss her forehead goodnight. Her eyelids flutter and it makes my heart race. I curl up in the chair and drift to sleep.
Around four in the morning I'm woken by loud beeping. Soon, nurses rush in and the doctor follows a few minutes behind. There is shouting. I stand. A nurse shoves me out of the room. I ask what's going on. I panic. The hustle and bustle is beyond belief right now. The noises are loud, the workers rude, rushed, nervous, anxious. I catch parts of conversations here and there. I quickly run to the phone at the nurses station and dial Ringo. He answers on the first ring despite the time of night.
"G? What's going on? Is everything okay?!" His voice is rushed.
"Her internal system is failing. Her heart has slowed, her kidneys are nearly shot. Her body is shutting down." I'm surprised I managed to get all that out. Tears fall.
"I'll be right there." Ringo says and I hear a click as he hangs up his end.
I walk over to the window that looks into her room. Don't go. Come back to me Kara. Please, come back.
