Kara's POV

It's been nearly six months since I first found out I was pregnant. I am so happy that the baby inside is still growing healthy.

Cynthia and I had just returned from a check up at the doctor's. She's been really great in helping me with all of this. She phones nearly every day and insists on taking me to all my doctor's appointments, shopping for maternity clothes, and going to the market or wherever in order to fulfill my cravings.

George told me (and later so did Cynthia) that John had confessed to the cheating. He had claimed the fame got to him and he couldn't control himself. Cyn had threatened to leave John and take Julian with her. For almost a week she and Julian lived at mine and George's house to give John a taste and show him she wasn't kidding. I think that really shook him up because ever since then he's been on stellar behavior. He kisses Cyn often and always has some part of him touching some part of her; whether it's holding her hand or arm, his arm draped across her shoulders or hips, whatever. And same with Julian. He's either holding him, the tyke is sitting on his lap, or they are holding hands, constantly giving him kisses on his cheeks or the top of his head. It's nice to see John like this. I told Cynthia is shows he truly does care about her and Julian.

The lads are at the studio recording their newest album so my days are spent with Cynthia, busily passing time together.

Being married to a Beatle is a very difficult and lonely life but Cyn and I make the most of it.

We are unpacking groceries and putting all the food away. Cynthia tells me about the last parts of the pregnancy as Julian runs around in the backyard.

Once we finish Cyn tells me she has to get going as Julian needs a nap. She goes to the back door and calls him in. He comes running and goes right to her legs, latching on. She picks him up and starts towards the front door. Julian waves at me all the while. Cyn gives a wave and a smile before turning out of the drive. Miss Judy took the afternoon off to get her hair cut so I was alone in the house. At the beginning this would have made me uncomfortable but now I enjoy the peace. I sit in a big comfy chair and turn on the news.

I watch mindlessly as photos of the guys and myself appear. "Where Is The Mysterious Fourth Beatle Wife?" Read the words on the screen. It showed current pictures of Linda, Mo, and Cyn and a quite old photograph of me with George. Ever since we got married I haven't gone anywhere with him. So I've kind of appeared out of nowhere, been announced as George's soon to be bride and then disappeared of the face of the planet. But everyone worth knowing my whereabouts, knows them.

I haven't seen a family member since the night my father had stopped by. George had phoned the police the moment the door was shut and they promised my father, or any other family member, would never step foot on our property again.

I have my hands resting on my stomach, feeling the baby moving around in there. I smile. I want desperately to know if it's a boy or a girl but George wants to wait until the birth to find out.

I hear a round of knocks at the door. Miss Judy must be back from the salon and must have forgotten the key or something. I slowly get up out of the chair. Another series of knocks on the door.

"I'm coming!" I shout.

I make my way to the front door and grab the knob. Once I open it I realize yet again the stupidity of not looking through the peephole first.

My worst nightmare, worse than my worst nightmare, is what - or rather who - I see standing there huffing and puffing angrily in front of me. I barely breathe the name before the door is pushed open and the person makes their way inside without an invitation.

"Joe."
