George's POV

It's Kara's and my anniversary. We usually celebrate it at a nice restaurant with Allison and then ice cream on the way home. But this year is different. It doesn't take a genius to know there's a very good chance Kara won't be here to celebrate our next anniversary.

Everyone has been really great since we've told them about Kara's illness. The women come by the house often just for the sake of giving Kara company. The guys have spent a lot of dinners over too. It would sound rude because they want Kara to homemake foods but Kara enjoys it. She finds much pleasure in preparing large meals for everyone. And she enjoys watching everybody eat the meal too.

A couple years ago, I bought Kara a Tiffany's white gold charm bracelet. For every birthday, holiday, anniversary since, I have bought her charms to decorate the bracelet - along with a multitude of other gifts of course.

Last year's anniversary, we held a party at our house. Before the gathering, Kara and I exchanged our gifts. From me, she unwrapped a charm - of course - and her favorite perfume. She loves it so much she often sprays too much at once so she's been through quite a few bottles. She was ecstatic when she opened it. After a quick kiss, she handed me her gift. I open it and my eyes grow. I took it out of the wrapping and looked up at her in quite a bit of confusion. I didn't get the purpose of the gift.

"It took me a LONG time to track that one down." She says pointing to it.

"I don't get it." I say, turning it in my hands.

"This right here. In your hands is the very absolute FIRST Beatles record ever to be created." She said proudly.

"Oh my god!" I say.

"I can't believe you found this! I don't know how you did it. I can't believe - How much did you pay for this?" I ask.

She just looks at me.

"Is that really a question you want me to answer?" She toys.

She's a glint in her eyes as she looks at me. I shake my head and smile at her.

"You're unbelievable." I tell her.

----------------------------------------------

This year, I wanted to do something really special and different. The McCartney's offered to take Allison for the evening so that Kara and I could celebrate alone. As much as I love my little princess, it'll be nice to have a night with just me and Kara.

I tap on the door to our bedroom and open it slightly.

"Hey babe." I say.

She's sitting in front of the vanity mirror.

"Linda just came and picked up Allison." I say.

She smiles at me through the mirror. I look down at my watch.

"So I'm thinking we'll leave in about forty minutes? Be sure to dress nice!" I tell her.

I go into the closet and grab my nice suit. I bend down and kiss her cheek before heading out of the room to change.

I'm waiting down by the front door. I glance at my watch again.

"K? You coming?" I yell.

I hear a quiet response and Kara emerges a moment later.

I gasp at the sight.

Despite her frail appearance, she still looks stunning. She's wearing a floor length emerald dress that is covered in sparkles. It's got a swoop neckline and wide straps. She's done her hair, curled, half up half down.

I smile as she reaches the bottom step. I hold out my hands and she grabs them.

"God you're beautiful." I say quietly.

She blushes and smiles that dazzling smile of hers.

I walk her to the car and get her settled in her seat. I shut the door and walk around the front and get in my seat.

I grab Kara's hand and hold it as I pull the car out of the drive and turn left towards the interstate.

We ride in silence. Kara occasionally strokes her thumb across the back of my hand.

There's something about being parents that just makes us such a stronger, surprisingly more relaxed couple. We just love being parents. After Allison's birth, we've fought less - not like we fought a whole lot before - we got remarkably stronger at mind communication, and we got better at reading each other's wordless signals. Kara and I can have a whole conversation by just glancing at each other from across the room. That little girl is a God send to Kara and I. And I couldn't imagine life without my little Allison Rose.

Kara's gasp pulls me back into focus.

"George?" She asks quietly as she leans her head down to look out the window.

I smile as I pull the car into a spot and put it in park. I squeeze her hand before I jump out of the car. I button my suit jacket as I walk around the front and open Kara's door. I offer my hand and she takes it, stepping out of the car.

She looks at me and I smile as I lead her to the restaurant door.
