George's POV

Seven days.

Seven days my dear Kara and precious unborn baby have been missing.

I pace around the front room. Miss Judy is knitting. She only does it when she's nervous. She's already made four sweaters and two scarves. She's working on a pair of mittens now.

The front door opens and Ringo walks in followed by John and Paul. We exchange solemn greetings.

Once I had hung up with the police chief I had called the lads. Of course I was going to tell my three best friends about this.

Ringo holds up a wrapped sandwich but I shake it off.

"You need to eat." John says.

I roll my eyes and grab the food. I take a bite as everyone watches. I chew but don't taste the food at all. Once I've struggled with a couple more bites I put the sandwich down.

Paul's flipping through news channels. The chief was very good in keeping his word - nothing about Kara's absence has been leaked. Yet. I know how this works though so I wouldn't be all that surprised if one of these days we see a story about it on the news.

I go back to my pacing. I've bitten my nails so far down, all they are is bloody stubs.

Brian insisted we cancel this tour - I wouldn't have done it anyway - but it was nice when he stepped up and made the decision for us. I continue to pace. I don't know what exactly I'm waiting for.

Suddenly the phone rings.

Everybody jumps at the noise and looks from it to me. I cross the space and pick it up before the first ring has even finished.

"Hello?" I answer.

"George?"

"Kara!" I pant and let out a sigh of relief.

"Oh my god baby where are you? Are you okay? Who are you-"

"I don't have time." Her hushed voice cuts me out.

"Joe has me. I'm sorry but I don't know where I am. I hear cars and trains outside but I don't recognize anything."

She begins to cry quietly.

"Please come find me George. Oh please. Please."

"I'm coming baby I'm going to-"

I put down the phone. She, or quite possibly Joe, had hung up their end. I knew that bastard was apart of it. I dial the police line and ask for the chief. I tell him what just happened. He says he's glad to hear Kara said she was with Joe. He thinks he's a general idea where Kara is. He's been looking into Joe's criminal history and has found lots of things.

"But one thing is consistent. His location of the crimes he has committed. He's committed every single one of his crimes about 60 miles outside of Liverpool. I've got men on their way out there now. In fact..."

Rustling.

"They should be there by now. Let me phone them and check. If you'd like I'd be happy to take you along with me when I go out. That'll be in the next ten or so minutes."

"Please." I said.

"Alright then. I'll see you at the station. Just come as soon as you can and we'll leave when you get here."

"Great. Thank you." I say and hang up.

I grab my jacket and a pair of sunglasses even though the sun was starting to set.

"They think they know where she is." I say as I put on my jacket.

"We'll be here!" Shouts Ringo as I run out the door and down the steps to the car.

I get excited as I think I'll be able to see my wife again soon. Hopefully.

I crank the engine and peel out the drive, speeding as fast as I can to the station.
