On edge of slumber we dance
Lured by it's irresistible urge
Attracted by such temptations
But we hover on its line
Never touching, walking the wire
Between sleep and wakefulnessOur minds slowly pulled apart
Unravelling like yarn
As we start to stray
Our paths so crooked
The wire Between snapping
Like our wills,
Once so strong, now so weakSurrender our will
To unconsciousness
To a blackness so deep
None can hope to escape from
Drifting away from the shore
To the heart of the dark oceanGentle waves rocking
Lullabies soothing
