Lost I am in your watery depths
Like eyes of crystals, luring
Me deeper, seeking deeper, swimming deeper
Down into the sapphire eyes of the sea
Into the dark blue that beckonsSo treacherously I am mesmorised
Entranced by the endless abyss of blue
Dangling off a cliff by a fingerhold
The deepest plunge awaits below
I itch somehow to fall into its embrace
But my soul sighs, not yet, it whispers
So I dance on the edge instead
Eyes still glued to the other sideIt beckons, calls, invites me
To immerse myself in sweet relief
To sunk down, gravity tugging
To drown in its watery depths
To lie, asleep, in the waterbed, stone cold
But my limbs thrash, instinctively,
And my lungs burst for breath, meeting
Only water that seems cold as ice
Freezing, head to toe, cold as ice
My mind literally frozen, cold like iceDo I dare take the plunge?
Into mindless oblivion and death's embrace?
Nay, for while I still have life
For while I still breathe and thrash
From watery depths I should emerge
From sapphire eyes and crystal waves
I rise above both
I shatter ice and walk on water
Not fish nor gilled creature I am
But just a human with a thirst for sea
And perhaps, a little too much water
