I Won't Give Up - Jason Mraz

Aubrey's POV.

I basically ran into the hospital after paying the cab driver. I never bothered to call any of my friends, and taking the Tube didn't occur to me. I didn't want to wait for anything. I wanted to see him as quickly as I could. As soon as I made it to where I needed to be, I was surprised to find all of them standing outside of his door. Their eyes looked towards me and I stopped in my tracks.

"W-what's going on?" I asked worriedly. "What are you all doing here? Why are you all crying? Why isn't anyone with him? What happened to Harry?"

"Aubrey, Aubrey, calm down. They're just changing his dressings, they asked us to leave the room. He's okay, at least for his state." Louis patted his hands on my shoulders. I let out a breath of relief and nodded.

I walked towards the door, knocking it lightly, and went inside. They didn't try to stop me in any way. The doctor looked at me and asked who I was, so I told him. He too, didn't say anything else. I stood in the corner of the room and waited silently until they finished.

Like several hours earlier, I returned to my exactly same position - sitting in the chair beside him, praying for the best. I also, gave him a sponge bath during this time. A couple of nurses didn't like the idea, but one of them agreed to supervise me. Even in his unconscious nature, I was protective - and jealous - over him.

I caressed his hair and cupped one of his cheeks. His bruises and cuts were still there, but I had no idea if he was feeling any of this physical pain. I slowly lifted my hand and placed it over his own. My body ached for his touch, so I had to make sure I was always touching him.

"Harry." I breathed. "Oh Harry."

"I know everything. I know that you lied to protect me. I know that you didn't cheat on me. But just - just why didn't you tell me? Maybe I could've helped you."

"You are the only one for me. No matter what, I'd never leave you for any other man. My heart only belongs to you. You are the love of my life Harry. Please make it, I know you're strong." I cried more, lightly resting my forehead on his hand, until I could calm down.

"You know, I'm wearing your sweater. The sweater I love and the one you love on me. I went to our home, yes our, and saw something I couldn't believe. I saw that you didn't sleep in our bed. I felt the pain as you did. I don't ever want to separate myself from you again." I explained to my unconscious other half.

"I also saw something else, I saw the engagement ring in that same drawer. I brought it with me. I didn't put it on though, I want you to do that." I smiled. "I know what you're going to say. You'd say that I was being selfish to ask for another proposal, jokingly of course. Well, I don't need anything fancy or even coffee in bed. I just want to hear those words out of your mouth. I want to marry you. My answer is yes. Look at me, answering you already."

"God, I miss your awful jokes. I miss you. I think that it's about time that -"

"Good morning, Aubrey." Nurse Wanda spoke as she entered the room. She opened the blinds that someone seemed to have forgotten to do so.

"Good morning."

"You know, I have faith that he'll wake up. The way you love him, assures me that he loves you even more." She smiled and I smiled widely back at her. "It seems you're feeling a lot better today. What's the change of mood?"
