Aubrey's POV*
He'd been gone for almost ten minutes. Where in the world did he go? I asked him to tell me, not to disappear on me. I waited some more, since there was absolutely nothing else that I could do. I drew a few more random symbols in the water and I watched the ripple effect that happened. It was all mesmerising. My head moved back towards the pathway, but he still hadn't returned. I could see a few people walking around through the trees, they were all enjoying the sunshine; as was I.
There were a few robins flying around up above me, chasing each other. I followed them with my eyes, smiling at their chirps. They flew a little lower and led my focus to Harry who was walking toward me. Finally. He had something behind his back. My expression changed to a little puppy excited for a treat, and I started to bounce in my spot to act my part. He laughed seeing my action. Harry sat down in the same spot as before and eyed me with a smile, his hand still behind his back. I was eager to find out what he wanted to give to me. It was the afternoon, but I still had some feeling that there would be something else planned — I'd say another beautiful romantic dinner.
"Hi." He said calmly.
"Hi." I tried to keep his level. "So?"
"So what?" He teased.
"Harry."
"Aubrey."
"Styles." I tried again.
"Brook."
"Harry!"
"Alright, alright." He laughed and moved his arm around from his back. "Happy birthday my love." He held in his hand a vintage Polaroid camera, one that I'd always wanted.
"Oh—my—goodness." I stuttered in shock.
"Thought you might have wanted it. I've seen you search for one on a few different online vintage shops."
"You have?"
"Yeah."
"Oh my. Thank you so much! This is the best gift I could ever receive!" I jumped towards him, still sitting, for a hug. He hugged me back and kissed my cheek, before I pulled away.
"You know, you shouldn't say that."
"What?"
"That it's the best gift you could ever receive."
"Why not?"
"Because your birthday is not done yet and I have some more surprises up my sleeve." He smirked.
"Oh come on. What can be better than this?" I questioned a valid factual point of mine.
"You'll see. Patience my love." He cupped my cheek and smiled. My cheek fit his hand perfectly, we were truly meant for each other. I took his hand, kissed it, and he pulled away softly. I held up the camera to face him.
"Smile." I said as I looked through the viewfinder.
"Never." He stuck out his tongue. I knew that he was highly photogenic and that he was teasing me. I wasn't going to let him. I waited a second until he laughed, and snapped at the perfect time. "Hey, not fair!"
"Very much so. I didn't want my first picture from this precious baby to be a picture of my boyfriend sticking his tongue at my face." I laughed and took the photo from the camera, shaking it.
"Ah, well, I suppose so." He grinned. "But it will happen eventually."
"Knowing you, probably so." I cheekily smiled at him, then turned to face the waterfall. I wanted to remember this spot forever. I waited for the photo to develop and stuffed them both in my purse. I took a look at my phone and noticed the time, which had flown by super quick.
