Song for the chapter:
I Love You Baby - Frank Sinatra
Aubrey's POV*
"Hello?" I answered the phone hesitantly, partially afraid of what she had to say.
"Hi love!" Her voice was even perkier than her normal perky self. I mean, Eleanor's generally a calm person, Nattie's the perky one, so in a way, this was abnormal for her.
"Everything okay?" As much as her voice seemed happy, I was still weary of the purpose in which she called.
"More than okay! Louis and I are getting married Saturday!"
"What?" I exclaimed loudly and slightly confused; but at the same time, incredibly ecstatic. "I thought you were getting married next summer!"
"We were, but we decided on doing something pretty intimate so it's a spur of the moment thing!"
"I'm so happy for you, but how will you get ready in time?" I was truly happy for her.
"Louis already had everything set up, since he knew I'd say yes. My mum is flying in on Thursday. I actually couldn't believe it myself, but it all happened so quick, and how he didn't, I couldn't possibly say no!"
"Oh wow! In that case, I can't wait!" I squealed.
"I also have to ask one question." She asked nervously.
"What's that hun?"
"Will you be my maid of honour? I mean, it's of course last minute and such, but I just had to ask."
"Oh my, I'd be honoured El! Thank you for choosing me!"
"I wouldn't have chosen any one else. Girlfriends since before either of us dated long ago. Well, I mean, you had Harry, but it didn't count back then."
"I don't think so, no." We laughed.
"Well, I'll let you get some sleep, because we have a long day ahead. I need to find a wedding dress."
"Wait, you said you had one ready ages ago."
"I do, I just need to find a seamstress to do it in time. I'm wearing my mum's dress, so I need it altered to fit me. I'm not as big busted as she was." She laughed. "But, if I happen to find another dress that I absolutely fall head over heels for, I'm definitely going to go for that."
"You would do that." I laughed. "Why don't you ask Nattie? She loves to sew and used to fix up older lady's dresses to get some money when we were in high school. She was really good. I mean, it is a wedding dress, so that might be different, but it's worth a shot."
"Thank you! I'll give her a call as soon as I get up in the morning. Night my love!" I said goodnight to Eleanor and ended the call. I couldn't believe it, my best friend is getting married to hers. All in a mere few days. I've never been to a wedding, well, unless if you could my uncle's cousin's daughters wedding, in which I was a flower girl for — we don't even speak to their family anymore, not sure why; but nonetheless, me being in a wedding party, it seemed so surreal and exhilarating.
Harry came appeared in the doorway not too much long after and I smiled widely at him. Before he stepped inside the room, he leaned against the frame, his focus directly on me. He returned the exact same gesture. I think we both knew what we were going to say, his smile expression said it all.
"Louis' getting married" — "Eleanor's getting married." We both said at the same time and laughed.
"He called me just now and told me. This was probably the most impromptu thing the man has ever done. He even chose me as his best man, which honestly, I expected. He doesn't know any other soul as close as he is to me. It might come a little self conceited, but we both knew it was true. I told it to him and I knew he wanted to punch me if I were in front of him. He hates it when I say things like that to him. It's my duty to constantly tease the guy now." He laughed as he sat on the end of the bed with one leg placed on the ground.
