Aubrey's POV*
The following several days were of staying busy trying to catch up on some work that we both missed at work or at home. Harry went to the office more than I did, since there were some meetings he had to attend. I was able to get things through email and video conferences. We weren't able to see each other as often as before. Some mornings we chatted a bit in the living room with some coffee and a quick sandwich, other times around dinnertime.
There was one day that I became free, while Harry was still at work, I was able to meet up with Eleanor, Nattie, and Gemma for brunch. They wanted to go to some fancy French café they all liked. I'd never been there before, but they were treating me since I hadn't seen them in a long time. It was a small shop, with beautiful white brick along the entire vertical length of the building. There was a little fence near the entrance that had black scrolls all throughout it. Only two tables for two were able to fit in the space, so we pushed them together, and sat down. This place felt like all of Europe in one spot. The day was absolutely beautiful, the sun shining bright, and the sky was blue as ever.
Once we sat down, a nice waitress, handed us some menus. There wasn't much on it, but everything looked delicious. I ordered a simple avocado on crispy toast with a side of fruits, and a mixed berry smoothie. I could drink smoothies all day, any day; of course, coffee would always win if I ever had to chose. Once the drinks arrived, I knew that they were all planning to ask some detailed questions.
"So Aubrey, I heard that your trip wasn't the greatest. Natalie mentioned some of the details." Gemma spoke out while taking a sip from her iced tea.
"Yeah, it wasn't the greatest. I mean It was nice to make up with my mum, especially after all my entire rocky years in Canada."
"So is it true about your Dad and his mistress, I think." Eleanor softly said, semi-regretting asking that question, based on her tone.
"Unfortunately so. You know, I've thought about it, and I think I don't really care. He was a horrible father, my mum basically raised me. I shouldn't been so shocked." I said, raising my hands.
"At least you and Harry had a nice time. How's things been since you two came back? From what I remember, he can be a little off after going through something rough." Gemma let out.
"I think he's doing okay. He's been thinking a lot lately, but I haven't really asked him. Actually, I've barely seen him since we came back. We've both just been very busy. Either he's up and gone before I wake up or I'm asleep when he comes home. Our schedules have been so off and it's starting to frustrate me. It's never been like this between us. We usually find some time to spend together, it's just been over a week." I let out in an irritated tone looking down. I felt like I spoke everything in one long sentence. When I looked up at each of the girls all staring at me in an confused expression.
"Hun, you need to get yourself some." Natalie said her elbow on the table. She then off her sunglasses, like some fashionista model.
"Some what?" I looked at them blinking a few times quickly.
"Some you know." Nattie nudged her head while raising her brows.
"Don't tell me you two haven't?" Gemma spoke out with big eyes.
"Haven't what?" I exclaimed, then realized what they were talking about. "Oh my gosh! You guys!"
"Why haven't you. Wait, you're still a—" Gemma tried to continue
"Yes! Now can we move on from this subject." I blurted out.
