WARNING: kind of sad :(
A Fact:
In Pokemon Red/Blue version, Prof.Oak would give you your starter Pokemon because of your close relations to each other. Later on, you would encounter you rival in Lavender Town. He would ask you if you know what it's like to have one of your Pokemon die.
At this point of the game, you'll realize he no longer has his Raticate witch he constantly used to battle against you before. The reason why he was in Lavender Town was because his Raticate died and he wanted to let it rest in peace in this certain tower in that town, Guess who killed it?
It was you.
It happened in the battle in S.S. Anne ship, when you battle him and of course, won (depends). His Raticate sustained serious injuries, because of the crowd and the confusion on the Luxury Liner, he was unable to arrive in the Pokemon Center in time
So that crushed his life, thinking he was a horrible trainer to let his Pokemon die like that from a unprepared battle. Tho he said it wasn't your fault, deep down he knew the true answer
So he trained hard, so he can win the League for his decayed Pokemons' sake and defeat you to earn the happiness of his Pokemon and grandfather.
So many more times of playing the game in the end you'll reach the Indigo League, were you get to battle him again and of course win
In the end your rival is scolded by his grandfather while you received his praise
The fact here is:
>You crush your rivals dreams.
>killed his Raticate and made him think lowly of himself.
>Ultimately snatched away his Grandfathers love.
>let him suffer the pain of it all and he can't blame you because there's nothing to blame for something that's not your fault.
_____
Your a very bad trainer of you play Red/Blue version *crosses arms* -3-
