Jace was able to move his fingers. He has slowly showing clinically essential evidences that he is fighting. He is still closely monitored though, but at least it is better than seeing him just laying on his bed.

Days after, he was able to open up his eyes alone. It was a nice feeling that he looked for me the moment he opened his eyes. He was also able to move his hands, though still weak, at least he is improving.

"Babe." I smiled on him as I approached his bed.

He lifted his hand in response. I took it and felt him squeeze it. I kissed him in the forehead and smiled.

"Miss me?" I asked. It has been a week since he was able to open his eyes. His motor has improved greatly. Though he still cannot speak due to the machine in his mouth aiding him to breath.

He gave me a small nod and squeezes my hand.

"I miss you too a lot." I smiled fighting if the tears enveloping my eyes.

I felt him squeeze my hand again as he shook his head. He motioned me to come near.

As I obliges, he wiped my tears with his hand. He motioned a "no".

I nodded.

"You don't want me to cry?" I asked.

He nodded.

"This is tears if joy, babe. You don't know how happy I am that you are finally awake. And that I can finally talk to you. That you can finally response. I missed you so much." I said as I cried hugging him.

I felt his hand wrapped around me and squeezes my shoulder.

I looked up on him and smiled.

He taps me and pointed on the tube in his mouth.

I smiled. He must have gotten annoyed with the tube.

"That's for your breathing, babe." I explained.

He motioned an "okay" sign and pointed at himself.

I laughed lightly.

"I know you are okay, but the doctors are making sure that you are ready before they remove that. I heard they are planning to remove soon though."

He took my hand and squeezed it. I know he wanted to tell me a lot of things. I know he wanted to show me he loves me by squeezing my hand.

I smiled and kissed him in his forehead.

"I know.. I love you too. I will be here for you."

He nods and closed his eyes to rest.

Days has passed and the tube aiding Jace's breathing has been long removed and he was moved into a regular room. He still needed critical attention, but less than a patient for an ICU.

Soon, he was already allowed to have purees. He can now talk. More tests are required to assure everything is fine before he is allowed to go home.

"Danielle." I heard him call me.

I looked on his mother who is beside him. She smiled at me and walked towards his father who was sleeping in the couch. His mother has acted more warmly to me lately. I am glad she has been able to be nice to me again.

I walked and took his hand that is reaching for me.

"Yes?' I smiled at him as I gave him a quick peck on the lips. He however pulled me to kiss me more deeply.

I pulled back and hit his arm lightly.

"Naughty. You're parents are here." I smiled at him.

"I can request them to get me something so we can be by ourselves." He smirked.

"Good to know you're still the same old Jace I know." I laughed.

"And love, you might add."

"And love." I agreed.

I must admit. I miss this so much. I miss Jace's playfulness. I miss his smirking, his naughty remarks. I miss him.

"I miss you." I whispered against his lips.

"I miss you more." He said as he pulled me into a deeper kiss. This time I didn't held back. I miss this guy too much. I would never turn away from his side again.

After quite sometime, we broke our kiss as we took back air to our deprived lungs. I smiled on to him.

"I love you." I told him.

God knows I have been worse during the past months, I had prayed for his recovery so that I can finally be with him again. It's a miracle that Jace is almost as fine as he was before. We couldn't thank God more.

"I love you." He answered back. "And by the way, you lose weight."

I laughed. So he has noticed.

"You cannot blame me. It was hard to eat while being eaten by worry."

"Well you better get back to shape baby. I'm fine now."

I nodded.

"You still look sexy though." He smirked and hit my butt.

I worriedly turned around to check if his parents saw it but turns to show they weren't where they were.

"They left the room before I kissed you." He winked as he gave my butt a squeeze.

"Stop squeezing, you Squeeze King." I teased.

He let out a huge laugh. It was music to my ears. It seemed like a wake up call to tell me, he is really here beside me again.

Just then I heard a knock from the door. I looked and found Jayson.

"Hey." Jayson greeted.

I felt awkward. It is the first time all three of us will be here in the same room again.

"Hey man." Jace greeted.

"I bought some soup."

"Thanks."

"Just don't expect it as good as the one you make." Jayson joked.

I smiled. I can see the effort in Jayson's eyes to make things bearable and light.

"Thanks man. I appreciate it."

"So.. how are you? It's good to finally see you're awake. Danielle has been more than worried. I did my best but as you can see, she is too hard headed hence the weight loss."

"Excuse me?!" I stood up. "I'm sorry for being hardheaded." I hit Jayson's arm.

Both guys laughed.

"What's funny?" I asked but instead of answering they laughed harder. They seem to find something too funny not caring to tell me what it is.

"Easy tigress, nothing serious." Jace.

"Obviously, nothing too serious that made you both laugh too hard." I rolled my eyes. But deep inside, I am somehow relieved that these two are okay with each other.

The whole afternoon, both of them managed to tease me endlessly. They seem to find my annoyance very entertaining. Urgh. Boys, no matter what happens to them, no matter how serious they might went through, they will still be boys.

That night, Jace's parents went home first to get some rest so Jayson and I stayed with Jace. Jace has asked how was the guys that beat Jayson, Jayson updated him about case, informing him that everyone is in jail already except the one that stabbed him who already passed away.

We spent the rest of the night talking about random stuff and them teasing me.
