Chapter 22 part2

I walked towards the nearest empty bench and took a seat.

I breathe in and out deeply.

I can feel my hands and knees shaking because of my nervousness.

"Calm down, girl." I told myself. "I can do this. I've already thought about this a hundred times."

I tried to calm my nerves and grabbed my phone. I typed in a message and sent it to Jace and Jayson.

"Are you really sure about this?" My subconscious asked.

"I guess. It's the only thing I can think of right now. I can only hope for the best." I answered.

I felt my phone vibrated and saw Jace calling. I decided to ignore it and placed my phone back to my pocket.

"They needed to come here not call me." I shook my head. Soon the vibration stopped. I let out a sigh when I felt it vibrated again, but this time it's a message from Jayson. I ignored it also and placed my phone on silent.

Few minutes later, I saw Jayson approaching me.

"Dani." He said, his eyes searching my face. I bet he's confused with what's happening. Even me, no matter how hard I convince myself this is for the good, I still doubt if I'm right with this one.

"Hey." I greeted back. I tried to smile to him and returned my gaze to the old lady feeding the birds. The park isn't much crowded and the weather is fine making it feel like everything is agreeing with what I am planning.

He sat beside me as I felt him stare at me before turning to look at the old lady I was watching. There was an uncomfortable silence between us, or maybe I was the only one who felt awkward.

"Danielle!" I heard Jace called me.

I turned to look at him and saw him running towards us.

"Am I late?" He asked while catching his breath.

I shook my head.

"No, you're just in time." I gave him an awkward smile.

"This is it. They're here." I thought to myself.

Jace sat on my other side, making me sit in their middle.

I felt awkwardness grew but its also a reality. I'm torn between them. I'm torn between these two guys. I'm torn between the two very important people in my life.

None of them tried to speak. Both seemed to feel the weight of what's to come next. They just waited patiently for me to open up and spill the reason of this sudden meeting.

I, on the other hand, was battling how I should start when I felt Jace's hands over my hand.

I didn't noticed my hands were shaking.

"Relax." he said as he smiled. I felt his smile was genuine though I can see how worried he is in his eyes. His hazel eyes seemed like having a huge storm in. For a moment, I wanted to comfort him to ease whatever pain he was feeling.

I took a deep breath and gathered the courage from my chest. I stood up and faced them.

I looked at both of their eyes and saw worry and concern on both.

A pair of brown eyes and another with hazel eyes were looking straight at me.

"I..  I have been thinking." I started.

"I was weighing things, events.." I glanced at Jace. I saw him winced, I bet we were thinking of the same event.

"I've been weighing what happened and been trying to weigh both of you." I said looking at Jayson.

"Jayson, you've been such a wonderful friend." He frowned with the word friend.

"You've always been at my side supporting and helping me. You've always made me feel well taken care of." Jayson smiled but still with confusion in his eyes.

"I kept asking myself if I deserve such good guy like you. I question if I am worthy for you." He winced.

"Dani, you are the most gorgeous girl I have ever met. Please do not belittle yourself." He said.

"S-sorry." I apologized. I can't help it. I feel that both of these guys are too good for me.

"Jace, you.. you made me feel loved. you made me feel alive. You got inside my heart without me knowing, it was just as if you were meant to be here." Hope lit Jace's face.

"Although you hurt me, I know you are a good guy. You are wonderful. And forgive me but.." Jace's face saddened.

"Do not think nor say you don't deserve me, Danielle. We both have flaws, yes. A thousand of them, but we compliment each other. You bring out the best in me." He cut me off.

"I.. I was left with questions." I started again.

"What could go wrong if I chose you Jayson? You took care of me and loved me."

"But we never got tested other than me suddenly leaving. Unlike what Jace and I had. We never argued. I do not know how we would argue." I saw Jayson look as if he was thinking. He must have recollected our past and tried to recall if we had big argument before because later he nods, agreeing to what I said.

"Every relationship undergo trials. Couples just needed to trust each other and be for each other." I looked at Jace.

"Both of you has been so close to my heart. That made me decide into this."

"I'll erase everything. I'll erase the past. Both of you are in a clean slate right now. Both of you have to try. Both of you have to try to convince me to choose you. I thought its a fair square to give both of you a chance."

"As much as I hated the sound of it. In simple words, you'll have to win my heart. Show me, convince me why you."
