Chapter 9 part1

Jace's POV

Danielle and I have been really busy lately with work.

I was worried that our relationship would lose its spark so I thought I should make an extra effort in showing her that I love her.

We agreed to have a date at least once a week. But I honestly felt it wasn't enough.

I thought I should give something to her that would remind her how much I love her. And of course to shove away any guy who would try to approach her.

I roamed the mall yesterday to look for the perfect gift I could give her. Like any other guy, I am less enthusiastic about malls but for Danielle I carried my ass and went there.

I went looking from dresses to shoes but nothing seemed to fit Danielle. I saw teddy bears and flowers but I thought its too mainstream. I almost gave up when I passed by a jewelry shop.

I was hesitant at first but I saw a specific ring. It is a mix of white gold and gold with few swarovski decorating it making it look very elegant. It just looks perfect and I imagined Danielle wearing it makes my heart swell in happiness. It has a matching ring for me.

I bought it and was about to leave when I thought of putting in a phrase inside the ring. I returned it to the saleslady and requested to put on a inscription inside. She told me it would be ready this afternoon.

I didn't go to work today fixing my surprise for Danielle. I called her and asked to have dinner with her later at my place.

When everything is ready I went to the mall to get our rings and went to the hospital for Danielle.

She was still clueless, thinking this would be a regular dinner.

When we reached my place she was surprised with the set up.

I placed the table near the balcony. I even set up the table romantically with few petals of roses and dimmed the lights for a more romantic effect.

I lit up the candle in the middle of the table and lead Danielle in her chair.

She was still surprised and speechless.

"Do you liked it?" I asked.

"Oh gosh. So much babe. I love it." She said.

Her reply made all the hard work worth it.

I offered her a single long stemmed rose.

"Sorry, that was the only one left. I placed the petals in the table." I jokingly said.

She laughed and took the rose and smelled it.

We had our dinner talking to each other about random things.

I love making her smile and laugh.

Everything is going on so smoothly.

As we finished off our dinner I poured in champagne in our glass and guided her towards the balcony.

New York's skyline looks perfect at this time. Everybody is busy in the streets and you could hear faint noise from below.

"Thank you for this Jace. I appreciate it so much. I love everything. It is just so perfect." She said as she leaned on my chest.

Her words make my heart swell.

"I have one more thing for you." I said.

"There's more?" She asked. "Isn't this enough?" She added.

"I want the best for my girl so I tried to think what more to give." I said winking.

I held her hand and kissed it.

"I would have the whole world for you if only I can." I said. "Even the moon but I wondered what would you do with it anyway." I continued.

She chuckled.

"So I settled in making you a dinner hoping you would love it." I said

"I love it." She said squeezing my hand.

"I thought offering myself would weigh you more than the world and the moon together."

"Jace.." She said nervously.

"Don't worry this isn't a wedding proposal yet." I told her sensing her thoughts.

She laughed.

"Okay." She said more calmly.

"Just not yet babe." I said kissing her hand. "Not yet but we're getting there. Just not now. I know your plans."

"But right now, I want you to know that you have me, my heart, my life only for you."

"Also, I want you to know that I will always be here for you. That I will never leave your side. That I will protect you. That I will take care of you."

"I will be your protector, your partner.. and I will love you endlessly forever."

I took her hand again and slid in the ring that I bought her in her ring finger.

"And this will seal my promise. Will remind you of it and will keep you away from those guys." I said smiling.

She laughed though she is in tears.

"Oh Jace.." She said as she kissed me.

I kissed her with all my heart.

I love this girl so much.

"I have the same ring." I told her showing the other ring and slid it in my ring finger.

"This should remind me of my promise to you." I said.

I hugged her tightly.

I will never let this girl go.

I would die if I lose her.

I am lucky enough she chose to love me where there are hundreds of guys waiting for her.

And I will never let those guys have a chance to get her from me.

"Oh I forgot." I said gently breaking off our embrace.

"Check the inside of the ring." I said.

She slid off the ring and check its inside.

"J protects and loves you forever." She reads.

I offered her my ring.

"Read this." I said.

"D's protector and lover forever... Oh Jace. You're making me so happy!"

I slid her ring back to her finger and she slid mine into my finger.

"I love you so much Danielle." I said kissing her passionately.

"I love you so much Jace. So much."
