 Chapter Ten

Two weeks have passed since I entered this small town of Forks and made my decision to stay a while to learn more about these vampires that continue to spark my interest. Questions that I didn't think about asking the first day would come out of the blue and I would make an attempt to remember it the next time I saw one of them.

Though I was still bugged by the fact that they could walk among the living. A fact that I found myself slowly accepting as the days passed.

I haven't asked them how they became stone like vampires and knew that I would have to eventually get to that question as it was very important. Their change must be much different then the one that would happen if I turned someone.

I would think it'd be more complicated.

They wouldn't be able to exchange blood but surely they had to exchange something to turn a human into a walking stone pillar.

Since the incident with Bella, Edward had been sending me more threatening looks. Though partly I think it also has to do with the human boy that I started hanging around with to get a good fresh supply of blood. From my understand the boy and Bella knew each other and were approaching their senior year.

I don't think Edward wanted me to make myself to comfortable in town. Probably thought I was a bad influence on his human. Or he might still think I plan on draining her blood.

If he wasn't so easy to mess with I wouldn't threaten to.

The group didn't know how I got blood from a human without turning them and that was something I had yet to explain. Instead I shrugged and mumbled blood bags, leading them to think whatever they would like with it.

There was still to much I didn't know about them.

There was still far to much I didn't want them to know.

Letting out a sigh I meet rolled over in bed and pulled the pillow over my head. It was going to be a long and restless night. I let my mind wonder for a few minutes before making a decision.

This town outta have a bar.

Determined to find it I left the room once again, making a note to find an apartment or house that was for sell to make my story that I told weeks ago seem real. No ones noticed the lie yet and if they have they sure as heck haven't said anything about it.

It didn't take long to find the bar, or the drunks that would come out of it once in a while.

I wrinkled my nose but still went inside, ignoring the two people that was standing outside and smoking. My eyes did a quick once over seeing that it didn't seem very popular that day.

There was only one person sitting at the bar counter, talking to the bartender, and then two other at a table talking quietly to each other. Mumbling under my breath about this town being really unpopular and that it needed to liven up I made my way to get a drink.

Tapping the counter I caught the bartenders attention.

"You old enough to be in here, kid?" He asked, looking down at him.

I grinned, leaning towards him to pull my wallet out.

"Of course I am, love." I said, showing an ID that was probably expired by that point.

Giving it a quick once over he shrugged and poured me a drink, handing me the ID back. I placed it into my wallet before sniffing the drink he made. It did't smell like there was anything poison in it.

Cheers to me then.

The liquid went down in one swallow, the liquid burning my throat but having very little effect on my system. Eyeing the glass I did a quick calculation on how many shots I would need to take to get even I little tipsy.

"Three more!" I ordered, giving him a wide smile.

He nodded, though he eyed me cautiously. He must've thought one would be enough to knock me out.

Shame I'm a vampire then.

As he poured the three I grabbed one and went towards the music box. My eyes scanned over the songs finding it was free to pick one. Good night to come if I didn't have to pay to listen to music.

Saves me some money.

And thus my not became less boring and more exciting.

By the time that he called for anyone last order I had more then enough in my system to stun an elephant. Get it, stun an elephant.

Laughter bubbled up in me and spilled out as I made my way out of the bar. My hands went out to help me stay afloat and so that I would land face first on the ground. My mind hazed, my thoughts clearly unfocused.

It felt like a good night -- er morning.

The cool air brushed against me.

"Do you need a lift?" I turned, spotting the bartender.

I shook my head though a big grin was still on my face. His eyes had slightly darkened as some emotion appeared.

"I have two feet. I'll be fine, love." I giggled, running a hand threw my hair. "I just have to figure out where I live again."

"Do you need me to call someone? You surly can't drive in that condition." He advised.

There wasn't anyone in this town that would come give me a lift. My brother was states away and I'd be sober by the time he arrived. Plus I didn't even want to see him at the moment.

Looks like I was alone.

"Na." I shook my eyes before finding my ring to be very interesting. "Did you know that this was given to me by my mom after she attempted to kill me?"

I frowned.

"Here, let me take you somewhere to rest up then." An arm circled around my shoulders.

I looked up my eyes falling onto the vein that stood out from his neck. Blood pulsed through it, keeping in rhyme with his heart. His arm that was touching my skin was a comforting warm.

Leaning onto my tip toes I pressed my lips against his neck, his arm stiffening before he pulled me into him. Suddenly his warmth was yanked from me, my fangs not even sinking into his cozy skin.

"Get lost." A familiar voice growled as a cold arm threw me over their shoulder, uncaring that I had been drinking.

"Shit." The bartender mumbled.

His heart was racing, his steps pressing heavily against the ground as he tried to get quickly away.

I pouted, thinking that he'd have made a lovely meal.

"What is wrong with you?" I demanded, glaring at his back.

Edward scuffed. "Me! You're the one who somehow got drunk and was all over that guy." Edward shot back, tossing me into his car before appearing in the drivers seat. "I had been returning from a hunting trip and low and behold I find you trying to suck the life out of someone in public."

I folded my arms together.

"You're such a buzz kill." I mumbled. "It's not like I would've drained him. Plus he would've forgotten about it in a few hours anyways."

"You're a real mess." Edward growled, clearly annoyed still.

"Ya? Well you're a real stalker!" I shot back.

"That doesn't even.." Edward shook his head.

I glanced at him in curiosity. Something about him was different tonight.

He smelled the same.

He clearly still dressed the same.

Yet I knew there was something different about him but I just couldn't put my finger on it.
