Chapter Thirteen
I parked my bike to the side as I pulled up the the Cullen's house with one bag slung over my shoulder. I listened, even though I knew that there wouldn't be heartbeats, finding the sound of a piano playing from somewhere in the house, a tv switched to a football game, and Alice's excited talk about clothing to someone.
Letting out a sigh I felt the bike shift as I stepped off of it. I scanned the house wondering if Carlisle would be there or not knowing that my business had to do more with him then the others. Knowing that I couldn't very well go back on my decision at that point I walked towards the house.
The door opened as I stepped onto the pouch showing the vampire that I wanted to talk to.
"Belle." He greeted, a smile falling onto his face. "What brings you over?" He asked.
I chuckled.
"I was kinda hoping to talk to you about something." I said, shifting on my feet. "There's people in town getting suspicious of me by this point because no one's bought ya know a house or even rented an apartment. I was hoping you'd let me crash here and claim that I was a very distant distant cousin to one of you."
The sounds in the background stopped.
"I would have to talk it over with the rest of the family." He said.
I nodded, expecting that. It seems that he talked to them a lot when it came to making such big decisions.
"Can you do it now?" I asked. "Unless you have somewhere to be."
Carlisle shook his head before inviting me inside. I followed watching as everyone appeared into the living room, a few with disapproving faces. I'm pretty sure that Esme was the only one - besides Alice - who had such a wide welcoming smile on her face.
"As you all heard, Belle, would like to stay here with us. Before I give her an answer I wanted to hear everyone's opinion." Carlisle said.
Alice stepped forward. "I already see her as a sister!" She said, appearing next to me.
These guys barely moved at human speed when it was just them.
"She should leave!" Edward snarled, standing across with a disapproving look. "It's a mistake letting her stay any longer in our town."
"Shouldn't you be with your human." I snarled back, crossing my own arms.
"Shouldn't you be off terrorizing a different family."
I swear I heard Carlisle let out a tired sigh. "Let's focus on the task at hand. What do you think, Rosalie?" He asked, my eyes snapping to the blonde vampire.
Her expression was loathing. I grinned widely at her.
Rosalie hated my guts and I just didn't understand why. It seemed that she would burn with jealousy every time I was around. I figured it was because I appeared to be more like a human then she was.
But just because I thought that didn't make it true. I could only guess where her dislike came from. I could only assume that she burned wit jealousy.
"I agree with Edward." She snapped. "She shouldn't be allowed to stay here."
I sighed.
"What is your problem with me?" I snapped right back at her. "I actually try to be nice to you."
"You don't belong." She growled.
I rolled my eyes. "You're species is just as unwelcomed on this planet as mine is but here we both stand." I sighed, running a hand threw my hair. "Esme?" This time I turned my attention to her.
