Chapter Seven

Kol came out of the house my gaze falling upon him before he bothered to notice me. His face was twisted into a look of worry letting me know that something was happening again. No doubt father was losing his temper with one of them.

Taking a step forward I went to call out to him when another person came out.

"Finn!" I shouted, spotting my favorite older brother. "I didn't know you were home!" I mumbled into his chest as I threw my arms around him in a hug.

His arms wrapped around me without fail, his chest vibrating with laughter.

"I came looking for you but you weren't around." I chuckled in return at his answer, resting my head on his chest.

Finn was the oldest male - besides our father of course - and often put up with me. Whenever I would have a nightmare Finn was the one there for me even though there was a gap between our ages. He would tell me stories about a sister that I never new and that our parents never wanted to talk about.

Before I could completely enjoy the moment the Rebekah and Elijah came out of the house. I moved back slightly at stared at them as it dawned on me what could've possible been happening inside.

Finn tightened his hold on me.

He knew what I was thinking.

"Where's Klaus?" I asked, looking between my siblings. "Where's Klaus?" My tone went a notch higher.

I loved Finn, and he was the brother that I went to when I needed someone. The brother that cheered me up when I sad or a nightmare had occurred. He was the brother that helped bandage my wounds and tell me just how special I was. and how I was so much like our oldest sister that had died.

I knew without anyone having to talk where he was. I knew because Rebekah started crying, Kol pulling her into an hug to comfort her. Elijah looked away in shame but made no move to go back inside.

And Finn, he was the worst one at that moment. He tightened his gasp on me in hopes that I wouldn't do anything foolish.

"No." I mumbled, watching as my family turned a blind eye to what was happening. "No!"

I pulled free sending Finn a seething look as he made an attempt to touch me before backing off. I moved past my siblings sending them the same look with disgust mixed in.

This was probably the reason our father had married me off. I was to big of a problem to deal with and always put myself in his business even if it didn't concern me.

Elijah was the only one who made an attempt to stop me. He placed a hand on my shoulder, not backing off from the look I gave him. He wasn't threatened by me in the slightest and didn't flinch away from my anger.

"Don't." He said.

"You all are pathetic." I growled, tugging free. "He's our brother! I won't let him face that man in there alone! It's not fair! Klaus never did anything to get that treatment."

I walked into the house finding our father sneering insults at my older brother.

"Leave him be!" I shouted, matching my fathers look. "I came home expecting my family to greet me and instead I find you abusing my brother again!"

Our father straightened his back, his face twisting slightly at the sight of me.

He wasn't a bad father and he did love us but I couldn't stand by and watch as he treated Klaus differently. As far as I could remember I always stood up for my older brother and in the beginning my father would listen to my words but as I grew older it became less frequent. By the time that I was ten he stopped listening all together.
