Annie made her way through the woods, the annoyance she held for Peter still strong. She hated that he had snapped at her, when all she wanted to do was help. Annie miserably kicked a stone on the path, and watched as it quickly rolled a few feet in front of her. Once she caught up to the stone she kicked it again, sighing heavily as it disappeared from the path.

Annie wasn't even sure where she was headed, she was just told by Pan to leave camp and not get killed. Due to the dense forest of Neverland, Annie struggled with knowing where she was on the island.

However, there was a break in the trees and a bright light flowed into the forest. Annie jogged ahead a short distance, and smiled widely as she ended up on the white sanded beach with crystal clear blue water that overlooked skull rock. This was the same beach Annie had met Indigo on, and couldn't help but wonder if she'd be reunited with her mermaid friend.

Annie took her shoes and socks off, leaving them at the edge of the trees. She then walked to the shoreline of the water, just far enough that the small waves could roll up onto her feet before retreating back to their home. Annie kneeled down, cupping the water with her hands. She let the water seep through her fingers as she stared out at the horizon.

The familiar navy blue hair of a mermaid poked above the water. Annie chuckled softly as she watched Indigo push her long hair out of her face, still looking like a Goddess while doing so.

Indigo dove under the water, her tail flipping up behind her. The mermaid swam closer, and tilted her head back as she came up above the water again so all her hair was falling down her back.

"Hello, Annie. I didn't expect to see you here again." Indigo spoke, her voice smooth but stern as it dripped off her tongue.

"It's nice to see you again, Indigo." Annie replied, smiling. She couldn't help but latch her green eyes onto the mermaid's blue ones as she swam even closer. Indigo beached herself right in front of Annie, her elbows in the sand as she propped her head up. Most of her body was still in the water, with her tail flickering contently behind her, the sun making every scale glisten. As Indigo got comfortable, Annie sat down in the sand with her feet still in the water.

"What brings you back to the island?" Indigo asked, taking in Annie's appearance. The girl definitely got older, but it seemed like only yesterday she was arriving on Neverland for the first time. She still had the same brown hair that had gotten significantly longer, and the piercing green eyes that matched the colour of leaves as the sun hits them.

"I realized that I belong here, more than anywhere." Annie told the mermaid, keeping the story short and simple.

Indigo smirked. "You missed Peter too, didn't you?" She asked, one eyebrow raised in amusement. Annie tried not to smile at the boy's name, but the eyebrow trick reminded her of him. Peter was capable of the same thing; raising one eyebrow so high it was nearly in the middle of his forehead.

Annie shook her head. "Nope, not at all. I missed the island more." She denied, causing Indigo to laugh softly.

"Your smile says otherwise." She pointed out, gently splashing Annie's legs.

The reunion between the two friends was unexpected interrupted by someone clearing their throat. Indigo looked past Annie, smiling.

"Pan." She said, nodding her head downwards slightly in greeting.

"Indigo. Can you leave us, please?" The teenager asked. Annie still had his back to him, knowing full well that he was closely behind her. Indigo nodded in response before putting one hand on Annie's ankle.

"I'll see you again soon, Annie." The mermaid said before backing up into the water, and swimming away. Annie stayed sitting until she was completely out of view before standing up.

Peter moved so he was standing beside Annie, and they were both standing out at the horizon.

"I hope you're not upset with me." Pan said in a low tone. He decided to stand so close that his and Annie's arms brushed together. Annie wanted to move away to show that she was annoyed with him, but couldn't bring herself to move.

"Why would I be upset?" Annie asked, matching his tone. She didn't dare look at Pan as he quickly glanced over at her to see her facial expression.

"Because I yelled at you."

Annie shrugged, not caring that her hand bumped Peter's as she brought her shoulders back down.

"It doesn't matter." She replied.

"I only told you to leave to keep you safe. You have no idea how dangerous Captain Hook can be." Peter stated, but Annie didn't believe him.

"So what, you think I couldn't handle him? I don't think you know what I'm capable of, Pan." Annie fought back, this conversation only agitating her more.

"Then tell me, Annie. What are you capable of?" Peter asked, now turning his body to be perpendicular with the girl beside him.

"I'm capable of taking care of a one handed pirate with a drinking problem." Annie shot back, finally looking over at Peter. He had an amused smirk on his face, and his eyes were a few shades lighter than his normal colour.

"Fine. Put your shoes on, then come help the boys and I." Peter told her, before walking to the tree line. Annie looked down at her feet, nearly forgetting she didn't have shoes on. "But don't blame me if you get hurt." Pan said before disappearing from the beach. Annie quickly put her shoes back on, and ran back to camp.
