Annie was still sitting on the log beside Felix, while the Lost boys had all taken seats on other logs. The eldest boy had told them to settle down, and they obeyed. Annie's leg shook impatiently and she picked at the skin around her nails as she waited for the arrival of Neverland's leader. He was bringing Grayson with him, according to Felix, and Annie was nervous to see the boy again. Her heart hammered in her ears as she chewed on her bottom lip.

There was a crunching noise in the jungle and Annie jumped to her feet. Her green eyes focused on the trees where the noise came from, feeling all eyes of the Lost boys on her.

"Someone's jumpy." Miles mumbled, his brows raised slightly. Annie glanced at him with a glare before turning back to the jungle. She closed her eyes in relief as a birch coloured rabbit hopped onto camp, only to head back into the jungle.

"It's just a bunny, Annie." Jakob pointed out, looking at the girl with a concerned expression. Annie felt foolish for jumping up so fast when the only thing that was there was a harmless rabbit. She ran her hands up her face and into her hair as she walked away from the square formation of the logs.

"No, it's not just a bunny." Victor spoke up, standing up from his own seat. He squinted his eyes as he tried to figure out what was walking towards camp. Annie dropped her hands, following Victor's gaze into the jungle.

Peter emerged from the trees, his gaze focused on the ground and his breathing heavy. He looked up, immediately cracking into a proud grin as he saw Annie. She stood in place with her arms across her chest, and both of her hands went up to cover her mouth as one other person walked onto camp.

Grayson stood across camp, stopping on the edge of the jungle. He looked at every boy, before his eyes fell on Annie. The corner of his mouth turned up slightly into a lazy smile, seeming like it took all of his energy to just do that one simple thing.

His face was bruised, scratched, and dirty. Through all of that Annie could still make out his defined features and warm hazel eyes that she missed so much. He wore a white t shirt that now looked brown, due to how dirty it was. There was also a large rip on the shoulder.

Annie didn't get a chance to notice anything else about his appearance as she walked over to him, not hesitating to throw her arms around him in a hug. He smelled of the earth and blood and even though he was pretty beat up his shirt was still soft on the side of Annie's face.

In that moment, with Annie reunited with her best friend, she felt like nothing in the world could ever go wrong again. Nothing could hurt her, and she didn't have a single worry.

Annie squeezed her eyes shut as she hoped the moment would last forever, but Grayson pulled away eventually just as a tear rolled down Annie's cheek.

"Don't cry." Grayson mumbled, wiping the drop away with his calloused thumb.

"Gray." Jakob walked up beside Annie, causing both her and Grayson to look at him. All of a sudden, Jakob pulled his fist back and punched Grayson across the face. The boy let out a loud groan as his head turned, already feeling a bruise form. A second later, as Grayson looked back at Jakob, he was pulled into a hug. "Good to see you buddy. Never pull a stunt like that again." Jakob said, clapping Grayson on the back before pulling away.

Annie stepped back as all the other Lost boys said their greetings, everyone having different responses to see Grayson again. Nathan started bawling, and Victor introduced himself for the first time. The girl noticed Pan standing off to the side, his arms behind his back with a blank expression on his face. His brother was back from the dead, but he didn't seem too ecstatic about it.

Annie walked towards the island's leader, dodging the boys as they led Grayson over to the firepit. They were filling him in on everything that's been going on on Neverland, almost forgetting the fact that just a couple weeks ago they had attended the boy's funeral.

"Hey," Annie said, standing beside Peter. He didn't say anything back, but glanced over at her. "We need to talk."

"I know." Peter replied, before starting to walk away. He didn't look back to see if Annie was following him as he walked into the jungle, while she was just one step behind him.
