Annie and Grayson had traveled away from camp, focusing more on not tripping over anything than talking. The dark trees of Neverland were starting to return to Annie's memory, as she slowly started figuring out where everything was beyond the dense curtain concealing the wonders of the island.

"So, why'd you drag me out here?" Annie asked, wanting to know what the point of this adventure was. Her feet were starting to get sore and she had thin scratches on her skin that stung with every moment.

"I want to tell you my story." Grayson replied. He pushed a branch out of the way that draped across the path, holding it for Annie so her clumsy self wouldn't walk into it.

"I already know your story." Annie walked ahead on the path, Grayson quickly catching up to her as he let the branch go and allowed the leaves the shake violently as their habitat moved back into place.

"Not the one after Neverland."

"Oh, yeah. The whole leaving and coming back thing. Tell me that story. Why did you come back?" Annie asked. Grayson chuckled softly as the girl was reminding of Grayson returning to Neverland, even after leaving with her two years ago.

"Why'd you come back?" Grayson didn't forget to remind Annie that she had also returned, even though it was hard for her to forget.

"No, no. You first." Annie didn't want the conversation switched to her, mainly because she didn't want to talk about her reasons for returning to Neverland. She wanted to forget the last little while of her life.

Grayson sighed heavily. "Fine. Do you want the long or short verison?"

"Just tell me, Grayson!" Annie exclaimed. She was starting to get annoyed by Grayson delaying his story.

"Alright! Take it easy. I left with you because I thought I didn't belong here. I returned to wherever I had been when the shadow picked me up, all those years ago. I didn't even know where I was because nothing that I remembered was the same. I didn't see a single familiar face, or building. It made me wonder how long I had actually been on Neverland for. Anyways, I had to live on the streets for a while, because I didn't have a home. I went weeks without a proper meal or clean clothes. It sucked, and I felt as low and I ever have. It made me realize that I wasn't lost on Neverland, and it's the only place I truly belong. I had friends, and my brother. So I summoned Pan's shadow, and he brought me back. I've been here for about a year and a half, never aging and never stopping the adventure of being here. Peter's been watching you for months now, because we all wanted you back. He thought you were happy back home, but immediately brought you here when he realized you weren't. He could recognize the sadness and loneliness in you, because it's the same look you had when he first brought you here." Grayson spoke, leaving Annie speechless throughout his entire explanation. Even when he was finished, Annie didn't know what to say.

"I don't know what to say." The girl expressed. "All I know is you and I both belong here, because the real world is just one giant nightmare." Annie turned her head slightly to glance at Grayson as he chuckled softly.

"You're right on that. I've got everything I need right here." Grayson replied. The bittersweet moment came to a close as a loud yell could be heard through the thinning trees. Annie and Grayson were approaching one of the many beaches that encircled Neverland.

There was a break in the trees, giving both the teenagers a view of the eggshell coloured sand and crystal clear blue water. The only thing out of place was a large wooden ship that had docked itself on the island.

"Get back!" Grayson hissed and quickly pulled Annie back behind a cluster of trees, trying his hardest not to reveal their hiding spot.

"Why? What's going on?" Annie said in an annoyed tone that Grayson had so abruptly grabbed her. He covered her mouth as his eyes focused on the activity on the beach.

"I think you know who that is." Grayson whispered, removing his hand from Annie's mouth. She turned her head to look through the trees, and see why was Grayson was in such a panicked state.

An average heighted man with short black hair and scruffy facial hair came into view. He had on a long black leather jacket with red and gold detailing. It looked like a coat belonging in a war that Annie had been learning about at school. In other words; historic and old. Annie's eyebrows had furrowed in confusion, but quickly widened when she noticed that one hand of the man had been replaced with a sharp, silver hook.

"That's Captain Hook!" Annie exclaimed in a hushed tone, looking back at Grayson. He had an expression of nervousness and anger written across his face.

"Come on, we have to warn Pan." Grayson stated. He and Annie began running back to camp, just far enough away that they couldn't hear Captain Hook yell something to one of his crew members.
