Annie had barely gotten any sleep last night, the events with Grayson and Peter replaying in her head all night long. As the sun rose in the sky and the birds woke up, Annie was already outside her tent, bored of aimlessly laying in bed any longer. The only other person awake, or at least out of their tent, was Troye. He was sitting with his back to Annie, facing the firepit that lacked any sort of spark.

"Morning, Troye. How's your leg?" Annie greeted and asked the boy as she sat down beside him, looking over at his leg. Troye had long pants on, so even if there was any sort of wound on his leg it wouldn't be visible to anyone.

"It's doing alright. A bit stiff at times, but that could just be my old man bones." Troye replied, joking at the end.

"Come on, you don't have old man bones. You were stabbed Troye. It's a miracle you didn't lose your leg." Annie tried to reassure the boy as his face fell, remembering the horrid events that took place on the beach yesterday.

"That's magic for you, Annie." Troye stated, glancing over at the brunette sitting beside him.

"I know, it just doesn't make sense. Why do I have magic?" Annie's question was partly rhetorical as she stared down at the ground, wedging the toe of her shoe into the dirt.

Troye shrugged. "That might be a question for Pan."

Annie froze, before quickly turning to look at Troye. "You don't think he gave me magic, do you?"

The boy shrugged again in response, not meeting Annie's gaze. "It's possible. Pan always has a reason for doing things, and you having magic is obviously very important." Troye explained. The short-lived conversation made the gears in Annie's head churn as she thought about why or how she could possibly have the ability to perform magic. If Pan wanted her to have magic, Annie was curious and confused as to why.

The sound of someone clearing their throat behind Troye and Annie made both of them turn around. "What are you two doing up so early?" Pan asked, glancing between the two teenagers with a small smirk on his face.

"Couldn't sleep." Annie and Troye both responded, nearly at the same time. Pan scoffed before walking to sit on the log across from the fire pit and the log his two Lost teens were sitting on.

"How could you not sleep? Neverland is so peaceful. I sleep like a baby every night." Pan bragged to the two, noticing but not commenting on how tired Annie looked. At least Troye managed to get a few hours of sleep last night, before walking up early.

"There's a lot going on up in here, Peter." Annie replied, pointing to a spot on her head just above her ear. Pan narrowed his eyes at the choice of name the girl had used, since all the Lost boys were told not to call him by his first name.

"Maybe a walk through the jungle will help clear your mind, Wood." Pan mocked Annie's tone, calling her by her last name. Troye looked back and forth between the two, a confused expression on his face. The Lost boys knew better than to question their leader, but they all couldn't help but wonder if Pan and Annie were some sort of...item.

"I think you're right." Annie said before clearing her throat and standing up from the log. "See you for breakfast." She told the two boys before heading into the jungle. As soon as Annie entered the tangled green mess of trees and plants, she felt relieved and calmer. Maybe it was the magic of Neverland, but it could also be the fact that the girl was surrounded by nature with no one to talk to but herself. Being by herself meant Annie had the chance to sort through the thoughts swimming around in her head, even if she didn't know what some of them meant.

Annie's gaze was focused on the ground of the island as she walked, dodging rocks and loose branches that blocked the path. A loud crunching sound made Annie snap her head up, slightly startled. The girl stopped in her tracks and tried to spot what was nearby. Assuming it was maybe just a small animal, Annie kept walking.

That's when a tall figure with brown hair ran across the path, ducking behind a clump of trees to disappear from view. Annie tried to spot the person, being almost certain she knew who it was.

"Grayson?" Annie called out, not getting an answer. The girl sighed, thinking that maybe Grayson was out for his own nature walk and didn't hear Annie. The loud grumble of her stomach told her it was time to head back to camp for some breakfast, leaving who could possibly be Grayson and all her thoughts in the jungle.
