Chapter 2 Baby Steps

Fhilea (POV)

Narinig ko ang tunog ng papa-alis na sasakyan. Tinungo ko agad ang aking bag na nakapatong lamang sa sofa at kinuha ang aking laptop. Bubuksan ko na sana ito ng mapansin kong may apat na matang nakamasid sa akin.

"What?" natatawa kong tanong kay Inu. Isang malakas na tahol lang ang narinig ko mula rito. Pinatong ko ang laptop sa counter na nagsisilbing divider ng sala at ng kusina. I stare at my babies and tried to look serious.

"This will be our new home." seryoso kong wika sa kanila. I heard Yasha growled. Indication of disagreement. I replied it with a sigh. Anyone who could witness this kind of scenario of us will think we're not normal. Yung tila nagkakaintindihan kami gamit ang mga sarili naming lenggwahe. Looking at them, makes me think how long they have been accompanying me.

Inu is a Black Rottweiler dog that was trained to guard me. While Yasha, is a Siberian husky who was trained to attend on my anxiety and depression attacks. I had them both as a gift three years ago. After everything happened.

Napabuntong-hininga na lamang ako at piniling iwaksi ang pagbabalik-tanaw. I noticed a big box just near the counter. I walked towards it and check what's inside.

'How can I live without you, M.' i said to myself.

I checked the box and it looks like grocery stuffs. I found a couple of necessities. But I picked the dog food and i saw a dog bowl dahil obvious naman  sa 'Paw' na logo na  nakaukit sa gilid nito. I took them both out of the box and filled each of it and gave it to the two.

"Eat!" wika ko na agad naman nilang sinunggaban.

Nilapitan kong muli ang laptop na nasa counter . I turned it on and pulled up a Private app:

Me: D!

D: How is it ?

Me: Looks fine. M really knows my style.(smile emoticon)

D: Good. So what's the next plan?

Me: What plan? I'm here to start again, remember?

D: (sigh emoticon) As much as I love to go with you, but you know I can't.

Me: I'll be fine here, don't worry. I'll update you from time to time.

D: You must!! Don't forget what I told you.

Me: K.

Hindi ko na hinintay pa ang kaniyang reply at diretsong nag logoff. Bitbit ang laptop ay tinungo ko ang hagdan. Made a few steps and I noticed the walling. The walls looks newly painted. Violet walls with a white ceiling gives accent on the entire house. I'm on my last step when I found out that there's a two doors. A black door on my right and a white on my left. Iniisip ko tuloy kung saan ba ang magiging kwarto ko dito. Inuna kong buksan ang black door. A double-sized bed showed up. The color cream walls with some brown lining on the edges gives the room a bright effect. It has a jalousie windows on the right side and an air conditioner on top of it. Alongside of it was a layer of cabinets. There's also a narrowed door on the far left side that must be the bathroom.

'This must be the guestroom.' 

 I closed the door and decided to check the other one. A carpeted floor showed up as I open the White door. Hindi ko naawat ang aking kuryosidad at tuluyan ng pumasok. This is bigger and wider than the other room. You will see a California King-sized bed horizontally placed on the right side of the room with a polished wood side table on the right part of it. Behind the bed is the curtained window that has a split type air conditioner on top of it.

Suite.

The room walls are color violet either. Mukhang pinasadya ang mga kulay para sa akin. On my left is where a study table is placed. Sa gilid naman nito makikita ang isa pang pinto. I walk to that door out of curiousity. I am awed on what's in front of me. It has a short hallway. Sa pagitan nito mapapansin ang sliding door type na closet.

'How did it fit in here?' asking myself.

Agad kong tinungo ang dulo ng hallway at bumungad sakin ang isang bathtub na mistulang nakadikit sa kisame ang shower. On the left is the toilet bowl and next to it is the sink that has a mirror that occupied the entire space of the wall.

Neat.

Nakontento ako sa paglibot sa banyo kaya naisipan ko ng lumabas. There is the two dogs that feeling comfy lying on the carpeted floor. They seems liking the place. Well, kahit naman siguro sino magugustuhan ito. Everything is on its right place. Living with two dogs in this kind of house, mag iinarte kapa ba?

"So, this is it. I will start over from this house. Baby steps, Fhil. Baby steps." I told myself. More like motivating.

I look at my watch. 10:30PM. Hindi ko na siguro napansin ang oras sa paglilibot sa buong bahay. Napag-pasyahan kong maligo na nang makapag pahinga. Nine hours flight is not a joke for not having a jetlag.

I turned on the aircon and walk straight to the bathroom. It only took me 15 minutes to do everything. And now, lying in bed.

"Thank you for everything today God. Please give me a good morning." I silently pray for before my eyes slowly.... close.
