Chapter 48 Sweet Rwanda

Mindy (POV)

Days passed and now it's our Midterm. I just got off our car and heading towards the gate when I saw Clifford running directly to me. He stop and faced me, heavily breathing.

"Any updates?" he asked between exhaling. I tap his shoulder and give him a half smile. "He's recovering." I said giving him a more genuine smile.

He exhaled so loud and smile right after. "Thank God! I'm sorry I wasn't able to drop by." wika nito at bakas sa mukha ang panghihinayang.

"It's okay. Fhilea doesn't want me there either, she literally don't want to bother anyone. It's just me who insisted. You know, persistent Mindy" biro ko sa kaniya at nagpatuloy sa paglalakad.

"But how will she take the exams?" pagaalala nito. Nilingon ko ulit siya at nginitian.

"I already talked to Dad about that and she'll be having a special exams when she come back." pagkukwento ko dito. Bakas pa din sa kaniyang mukha ang pagkabahala. I face him and hold both of his shoulders.

"That's just exams! She's Fhilea!" wika ko at nagliwanag naman ang mukha nito. We continue chit chatting until we reached my locker. We talked how Bernie is doing everyday and the status of his illness. He was diagnosed of having pulmonary tuberculosis. Fhilea decided to admit him to get cured and as per the doctors, it will take two weeks to have him fully recovered by continues medication.

It's just the three of us who knows what happened. Well.. including Bradley. He's the one who drove them to the hospital. At hindi na ako magugulat kung malalaman na din ito ni Ken. I'm not really sure what's happening but I always find it weird having them around. Kontento na ako na kami lang tatlo ang magkakasama but adding more, that will draw much attention? That's a bad idea. Just like what happened last time with Rwanda. She's far from the list that I expect to deal with but we already catched her attention.

'How many of this people do we have to deal with, Fhilea?' tanong ng isip ko.

From the moment she came, everything's changed. From Eugene's group down to Marcus. Britney and Aries. The basketball game and now Rwanda. Everything that she touched always make someone insulted or anything between the lines. Though wala naman siyang ginawang masama. So far? It's just that, all of it created an impact that was way too disturbing and intriguing.

I don't really know how the hell did she do that but I'm absolutely thankful cause somehow, Aberdale is been peaceful since then. Beyond the bounds, some are way too affected by the sudden changes . Which is ironic.

"I'll go ahead!" paalam ni Clifford na nakapagpabalik sakin mula sa pagiisip. We separate ways in the middle of the hallway. I'm in front of my room while his will be on the next floor.

I feel alone and abandoned. This is what I hate when Fhilea is not around. It feels like I don't really know anyone. I'm also not that comfortable talking to them. NOT that I don't really have friends. Meron mga ka kilala but the bond is not that solid like what I have with Clifford and Fhilea.

'Gumaling ka na Bernie!' pananalangin ko. Call it selfish, so be it. I just miss having her around so effin much. And please! What I'm praying for is much in favor not only for my benefit.

Time passed so smoothly and I didn't notice that my class just ended. I was about to make my way to my locker and get my books for my next class when I felt that someone is tailing me. Mabilis akong naglakad at pinili na dumaan sa mas maraming tao. Ilang metro na lang ang layo ko sa locker ng maramdaman ko na naman ang mga yabag na nakasunod sa akin.

Lakad takbo ang ginawa ko marating lang ang locker. Saktong bubuksan ko na ito ng bigla na lang may sumulpot sa harapan ko. The kind of feeling like you were by the open and whats in front of you is a hideous cliff. Hindi biro ang naging kaba ko ng makilala pa kung sino ito.
