Vlad (POV)
'This is insane!' pagmamaktol ng utak ko.
What she did back there change the history of this debate. This is not what we have before.
I graduated Architecture in this school and I went into this process. I know how it works and I know how everyone worked so hard to please all the panelists. We spent 20 hours awake, everyday to review just so we can perfect it.
And now, she's changing the settings!? I'm not sure if this set up will be permanent but this is unfair for the students who've gone to the old process prior to this.
'Charlatan!' anang isip ko patungkol sa babae.
I don't really care if she graduated at Harvard or Oxford.
'She's smart, so what!?' maktol ng isip ko.
'She can't be good at anything!' patuloy kong pagmamaktol.Asar ko siyang hinabol ng tingin hanggang sa marating ang kaniyang uupuan. And as usual, just like how she moves, pasalampak siya roong naupo at nagsalikop ng mga braso.
'Tomboy!' angil ko sa sarili habang tinitingnan siya.
She just sit there like no one is around. She just stare at the two students that is making their way near the microphone. And take note, she look at them like how the normal Fhilea look at people.
Cold. Dark. Emotionless.
That kind of look that is known mysterious. I scan her from head to toe and I must admit, hindi mo basta mapipintasan ang isang ito. No matter how she acts, she still have that impact. Noticeable. She's literally the type of girl that's impossible to be ignored. She's quite but her aura is so loud.
'Then what are you whining about, Vlad!?' tanong ng isip ko.
That thought shuts me up.
I don't really know. Not even an idea.
I chose to erase that thought in my mind and look away. Napansin kong umakyat na ng stage si Mang Oscar.
🎙️ Wew! I'm sorry guys for that scene but I'm sure it goes well, haha. Alright? So let's go back now. The next topic will be INDEPENDENCE at the age of 18. Agree or not? You guys have 3 minutes each to discuss your opinion and only the panelists can decide when to stop. Okidoki? 🎙️ - Mang Oscar's said.
The crowd agreed in unison and silence occupied the entire auditorium. The political science guy will be the first to answer.
"I cannot agree with that. Being independent at the age of 18 is never been part of our culture. Most of us grew up with the beliefs that if you're not married, you still need to live with your parents. In any circumstances. This tradition was inherited generations by generations. So I don't find any reasons for us to agree with that. " he said.
"I agree." mabilis na putol ng babaeng kalaban nito na hindi man lang pinatapos ang huli.
"I agree that we all can be independent at 18. Those are the times where we cannot depend with our parents anymore. We have the freedom to do whatever we have to do without asking anyone's permission. We can also go wherever we want. That is actually the beauty of being independent. You have your own time, own decisions, own privileges. That's what matters right? Living your own life." - sagot ng babae.
"You're saying that because you're from a well off family. But what about the poor? What about those 18 years old that don't even have a family? Those 18 that wasn't even given a privilege to do something for themselves? Who can't even go to school due to financial reasons? Those 18 who lives on some provinces that didn't even have any opportunity to study in the city? We are lacking here support, and that support is from our parents because we cannot do it alone. Not at the young age where we just got legal." - sagot ng lalaki dito.
