Friday:
Ring. Ring.
I sat up and turned off my alarm. Great. Time for school. Don't get me wrong; I love school. I mean who wouldn't like being one of the most popular girls in the entire school as a Freshman. Especially since it's only the first week of school. I mean it's only because of my last name really. Sure, I'm a Schuyler Sister, but I'm not exactly noticed. If I wanted to be noticed, I'd be Angelica or Eliza. Unfortunately, I'm only Peggy.
I got up and went into the bathroom. I learned to wake up early so I would have the bathroom to myself. I brushed my teeth and hair. I threw my brown, curly hair up into a high ponytail and started to put on my makeup. I didn't wear much- just some eyeshadow, mascara, and the occasional highlighter- but it was enough to be noticed.
As I walked out to the kitchen, Angelica and Eliza walked down the stairs already talking. They were only a year apart, so they were really close. They tried to include me as much as they could, but I was at an awkward age to be close with anyone. Angelica was 18, Eliza was 17, I was 14, John was 10, Philip was 9, Rensselaer was 8, Cornelia was 6, and Catherine was 1. If I was close to anyone, it was Eliza. She always looked out for me. I know Angelica did too, but Eliza tried more to include me.
I sat down at the table next to my dad who was drinking his coffee and reading the newspaper. Eliza and Angelica sat across from me.
"Good morning, girls!" My mom said while handing us our breakfast- homemade blueberry pancakes. She made us breakfast every morning. Luckily, the three of us liked the same thing, so she didn't have to make 30 different types of pancakes. John, Philip, Ren, and Cornelia all wanted something different. I ate my pancakes and went up to my room to finish getting ready.
I walked up the steps and walked down the hall. Eliza ran up to me. "Hey, Pegs." She never used nicknames unless it was me or Angelica.
I stopped. "Hey, Eliza."
"Maria Lewis is having a party tonight. Do you want me to see if you can come?"
Maria was a senior like Angie. She was fairly smart, extremely pretty, and very popular, but she didn't always make the best decisions. "You don't have to, Eliza."
"But I want you to come." She smiled.
"Alright." I laughed.
"Okay, great! Oh, before I forget, I need to show this new kid around today, so they will probably be sitting with us at lunch."
"Okay. Sounds great!"
"I better get in the bathroom before Angelica does."
"Too late!" Angelica said while walking into the bathroom. Eliza laughed and walked in behind Angie. I smiled and walked into my room. I wished me and Eliza were that close. I was pretty close to Cornelia though. She was eight years younger than me, but I shared a room with her. She was still closer to the boys though.
I walked up to my dressers and grabbed a yellow sweatshirt and some ripped jeans. I got dressed as quietly as possible so I didn't wake up Cornelia. She always ended up waking up early, but I wanted her to wake up on her own. When I was dressed, I put on my Vans and went down to the living room. I always had plenty of time left.
I walked down the hall, and Eliza walked into her and Angelica's room. Eliza was always done before Angelica because she never wore makeup or did anything with her hair besides some sort of ponytail once and a while. I walked down the steps and into the living room. I sat on the couch next to my mom.
"Hi, honey." My mom said smiling.
"Hi, Mama."
"Are you going to that party with your sisters tonight?"
"I'm not sure. Eliza wants me to go, but she needs to make sure I can go."
"If you do go, be safe. Okay?" My dad said. He was still in the kitchen
"Okay, Daddy. I promise."
I heard footsteps coming down the steps. Then I heard a thud and laughing; it was Cornelia.
"Good morning, sunshine." My mom said.
"Good morning, Mommy. Good morning, Daddy. Morning, Peggy." Cornelia said getting up off of the floor.
"Good morning, Cornelia." I said smiling.
She walked into the kitchen with my mom and came back with a bowl of strawberries. Cornelia loved berries although, I'm pretty sure there was more on her face than in her stomach. She sat on the floor and watched Disney Channel. As she started to sing along to the Chuggington theme song, Angie and Eliza walked down the steps. I grabbed my phone and walked to the door to grab my book bag.
"Bye, girls! Have a great day at school!" My mom shouted to us as we walked out.
"Bye, Mama!" Eliza shouted back.
We walked out the door and into Angie's car.
