Wednesday (the last day before Winter Break):

I was so excited! After lunch, I would be leaving this fucking school until next year. I was mainly excited for Christmas. I couldn't wait for Maria to get her present! I just knew she'd love it. It wasn't exactly an easy thing to get.

"Hey, Best Friend." John said walking to my locker.

"What do you want?"

"God, can't I say hi?"

"No, it's just you usually want something."

"Yeah I do want something. I want yo-." He couldn't even finish the sentence without laughing.

"Back off, Gay Boy! She's mine." Maria said coming behind me and wrapping her arms around my waist.

"Like I'd actually want her!"

"Watch it, hon." Maria loved using the voice on him just as much as I loved her using it on me. Call me kinky all you want, but that voice is fucking hot.

"Fuck off."

"Why?"

He backed away slowly before running down the hall. "Lex!"

Maria grabbed my hand. "Come on." She led me to the cafeteria where our friends were waiting.

"Stop making my boyfriend turned on." Alex complained as we sat down. "That's my job!"

"If he was actually gay, he wouldn't get turned on." Herc said.

"Get fucked!" Laf said laughing.

"I hate all of you!" John whined.

"But, John, we all love you." Maria teased.

"I especially hate you!" John whined even more. "No wonder you love red because you're a god damn spawn of Satan!"

"Oh can you not be a baby for once?" Angie snapped.

"Why can't the bell just ring?" John said slamming his head on the table.

"Aw, Jackie." Alex said sympathetically. "Everything will be okay."

"Yeah right!"

"It will. You know why?" Eliza said.

"Why?" He said lifting his head from the table.

"Because you and Alex can come over after school."

"They can?" Me and Angelica asked simultaneously.

"Yes, they can. And so can Maria." Eliza smiled sweetly. "It will be so much fun!"

"Uh quick question- will Cornelia be there?" Alex asked.

"She sorta kinda lives there so yeah, dipshit." I said.

Alex mouthed 'yes'. "Well, Jackie and I will be right over!"

"But, Lex!" John whined yet again. "They are all mean to me!"

"Man up!" I said.

"Fuck off."

Then the bell rang. John bolted out of the cafeteria and to his locker.

"Well I'll go find him, but we'll be over as soon as possible." Alex kissed Eliza's cheek then ran off after John.

"Do you want me to take you home? I mean I'm going there anyway." Maria asked as we walked to my locker.

"Absolutely." I smiled.

"Peggy! Maria!" A voice called.

Martha. Haha fuck.

"Martha!" I said unenthusiastically.

"Do you two want to hang out over break? We could go to the mall or have a sleepover!"

"Oh, sorry I'm really busy."

"What about you?" She turned to Maria.

"Yeah, I'm busy too."

"Oh alright." She sighed. "Why do you have an empty coffee cup in your locker?"

"Are you blind? I don't see a-" I looked up on my shelf. I took it down. Tears formed in my eyes.

"What's wrong?" Martha asked.

"This is all I have left of Sally." Tears trickled down my face.

Maria pulled me close to her. "Come on, babes." She grabbed my book bag and coat. "Let's go." We walked out to her car.

I stared at the coffee cup. "I miss her so much."

She grabbed my hand. "I know."

That's all we said the entire ride to my house. Alex and John were already there when we got there. I just walked past them and up to my room. I set the coffee cup on my nightstand and laid down on my bed.

Mar walked in. She sat at the edge of my bed. "Are you going to come down?"

"In a bit."

"Okay." She smiled and kissed my forehead before leaving.

After a few minutes of being left alone, someone else came. "How is my little sister doing?" Alex.

I shrugged.

He laid down next to me.

"What are you doing?" I said turning to him.

"I just want you to be happy." He smiled.

"You don't have to."

"I want to." He put his hand on my cheek. "You're my little sister. That's my responsibility." Funny. My actual older sisters would never do that.

I just smiled.

"You look tired. Why don't you go to sleep?"

"Alright, but you know you can leave, right?"

"I'm staying here." He put his arm around me.

"Suit yourself." I closed my eyes. "Wait. Before I forget. Lia won't be here; she's sleeping over her friend's house." I looked to Alex for a response, but he was already asleep. So much for hating sleep.

There's your coffee cup cameo with some sorta-sibling love.
