Eliza, Sally, and I sat outside waiting for Angelica to come back from Laf's house. My mom pulled in the driveway with the minivan- the rest of my siblings were home.
"You girls look stunning!" She said walking up to us holding Catherine.
"Thanks, Mama." Eliza and I said.
"Thank you, Mrs. Schuyler. Is it alright if I spend the night?" Sally asked.
"Absolutely!" She walked inside with Catherine. The boys followed. Cornelia came up to us.
"I wish I could be pretty like you." She said frowning.
"You already are beautiful." I smiled.
"But I want pretty clothes."
Just as I was about to speak, Ren came out.
"Cornelia! Come on! We are playing tag!" He shouted.
She ran into the house without another word.
My phone buzzed. I was hoping it was Angelica saying she was almost here. What was I thinking? She would have texted Eliza not me. I checked. It was Alex.
"I'll be right back." I walked away from Eliza and Sally.

"Who was that, Pegs?" Eliza asked.
"Oh just someone asking about homework." Woah. A lie.
We sat there for at least 20 minutes before John pulled up. I guess he was driving us. Everyone got out of the car.
My mom saw everyone through the window. "I need a picture!"
About 300 pictures later, we were finally able to leave.
"What happened to your hair?" Angelica asked Eliza.
"I'm trying something new."
"It looks great, mon amie!" Laf said.
"Anyways. Laf, Herc and I will sit in the very back." Angie said. "Let's see. Eliza, Alex, and Sally will sit in the middle."
Eliza blushed.
"But I want Alex to sit in the front." John said sadly.
"Well, that sucks because Peggy is sitting up front!"
I forgot. Angelica knew I liked John.
"Shouldn't I sit with Sally?" I blurted out.
"She's fine with Alex and Eliza."
"Fine."
As we got into the car, Angie whispered to me, "You're welcome, baby sis!"
I hit her gently then smiled before sitting up front.
Angie, Laf, and Herc talked the whole way there. Most of it was in French between Angie and Laf.
Sally and Eliza talked quite a bit. Alex just looked out the window.
John kept looking in the rear view mirror at Alex. I wanted to talk to him, but I knew he liked Alex. I'm pretty sure he was gay, but I was scared to ask anyone. Angie must gave fixed his hair because it was definitely curly and hot.
My phone buzzed again.
