Monday:
I waited at Maria's locker. Sure, we've only been dating for three days, but I needed to prove I was a good girlfriend. And she was crippled, so I guess it would be only fair if I helped her out as much as possible.
"Hey, love. What are you doing here?" Maria asked before kissing me on the forehead.
"I wanted to help you out."
She balanced herself on her crutches and put her hand on my cheek. "You are too precious."
I felt my face heat up. "Thanks." I helped Maria grab her books.
"Can you help me go to the nurse, love? I need to check in with her."
I nodded and walked down the hall to the nurse.
"Can we sign your cast, Maria?" Martha asked standing with some other cheerleaders.
"Sorry. No room." She held up her arm.
"But it's just says, 'Peggy'."
"Yeah."
We kept walking. When we got there, I sat on a chair in the waiting section and Maria walked on back. Wait, why do I keep saying she was walking? She had crutches! She was more like hopping I guess.
After a few minutes, the nurse came out. "Peggy, can you come back please?"
I got up and followed her to her office.
"Maria, wants you to help her out today. I know you don't have any classes besides lunch together, but I already notified your teachers."
"Oh, okay." I smiled.
I helped Maria stand up and took her to her first class. I heard the bell ring. I walked down to my class and sat down. People stared. Well fuck them.
That's pretty much how the day went, but then we had lunch.
We sat down next to Angie, Eliza, Sally, Theo, Laf, Herc, John, and Alex.
"Aw!" John, Angie, and Eliza shouted as we sat down.
"Am I missing something?" Alex asked.
I gave him the "are you stupid?" look.
"Wait, are you guys dating?"
"No." I said sarcastically.
"So how long have you been dating?" Herc asked.
"Three days." Maria said reaching for my hand that was on the table.
"Well you two are adorable." John said.
I looked him in the eye and said, "Thanks, Kinky."
"Kinky."
"Kinky."
"Kinky!"
"Kinky!"
"Why the fuck are you yelling 'kinky'?" Alex asked laughing.
"It's from Dear Evan Hansen you uncultured dipshit."
"Well you're a bitch!" Alex shot back.
"Dipshit."
"Bitch."
"Dipshit!"
"Bitch!"
"Dipshit!"
"Can you two just be nice?" Eliza asked.
"I'm nice."
"Mhm. Definitely, Pegs." Alex said.
"I am!"
"Are not!"
"Are to!"
"Are not!"
"Are to!"
"God, you're such children." Angie said.
"I am a child. Alex just acts like it."
"How does Maria put up with you?" Alex asked.
"How do Eliza and John put up with you?"
"Because he's hot." John said smiling.
"I can be dealt with." Alex said.
"So can I. Right?" I turned to Sally and Theo.
"Yeah." Theodosia said.
"She really only acts this way around Alex." Sally said. "I've dealt with her for 10 years."
"I've dealt with her 14 years, but she's my sister; I have to." Angelica said.
"I hate you."
"Eliza's dealt with you too."
"No duh."
"How did John even put up with you at all?" Alex laughed.
"Well-" John started.
"He really didn't. I mean he's fucking gay." I turned to John. "No offense."
"None taken." He smiled back.
"What about Maria? Hm?" Alex asked again.
"I deal with her just fine. Thanks." Maria said. "Let's go, love."
I got up and left with her. After a few seconds, I turned back and flipped Alex off. He did it back.
"Very mature, dipshit!" I shouted to him.
"You started it, bitch!" He shouted back.
"You did, Pegs." Maria said looking at me.
"I know. Can you please watch where your going? I don't need you running someone over."
She laughed. "Sure thing, love."
