"Is that all?" I asked.

"Yes sir. Yan na po ang lahat ng nakalap kong impormasyon." the detective assured me.

Yes, you've read it right. The moment I learned about my child, I immediately called for a detective. What for? To get a hint of what really happened years ago. Where my wife is, how she lived and the details about my child.

I dismissed him as soon as I got what I want.

"So, what are your plans now?" Nicholas asked.

Oh, did I mention that the guy's Nicholas' family detective? If not, then,... hmm... now you know.

I'm currently at the bastard's office right now.

"Honestly? I got none. I feel empty. I feel guilty. I feel...hatred... towards myself. For being a jerk, an asshole and a fckin' idiot. I just can't face her." I slumped at the chair I was sitting on.

"Still avoiding your wife, eh?"

"I'm not avoiding her, asshole. Distancing myself for a bit is different from avoiding her. I just wanted some space. Some time. You know I always keep my eye on her."

"And you think that's what's best for the both of you?"

I poorly nooded. "Yeah." I heaved a sigh.

"Coward." I heard him mutter.

"what?"

"Nah. Just make sure its effective and be sure to act fast. Your wife's an easy prey for vicious beasts." he smirked.

I suddenly imagined men lurking around my wife and a certain image of a man appeared on my mind.

Williams.

The guy who persistently crosses the line and flirts with my wife.

I clenched my fist at that thought. I seriously need to get rid of that guy. No. All of those guys. I have to get rid of them all. They need to know who the actual fck have the rights to own her.

I stood up and went out without saying a word.

I heard Nicholas chuckle and say, "Idiot."

"Fcker." -I cursed him silently.

Lira's POV

"Yes ma'am wala pong problema. I-inform nyo na lang po kami kapag nakapagdecide na po kayo." sagot ko sa telepono. Oo, nagtatrababo pa rin ako kay Jared bilang secretary nya.

Nandito ako sa bagong opisina nya sa hotel. Pinagawa nya ito para hindi sila naghihiraman ni sir Nathan.

Yun lang, hindi naman kami madalas magkita. Dahil kung wala sya sa loob ng opisina nya, nasa labas sya para makipagmeeting. Kapag tinatanong ko naman kung kailangan ko pang sumama, palaging wag na o kaya asikasuhin ko na lang ang ibang bagay. Hayy...

"Good afternoon. Mr. Beaumont's office, how may I help you?"

"Is Red there?" sino daw?

"Uh, sorry?"

"Jared. Is he there?"

"Ah...Sorry ma'am. But unfortunately, Mr. Beaumont is out for a while. Would you like to leave a message? Or do you want to set an appointment with him?"

"Ah! Just tell him that Pauline's birthday is coming up and he needs to be there." Pauline? Sino si Pauline?

"Sure ma'am. I'll relay it to him. Is there anything else?"
